I am constantly working on our recall and positively rewarding for coming back. This will strengthen our bond and keep us all safe, which is priority in our pack π
Hamish is our new young puppy still in training but definitely getting there π₯°
I don't think Sam had ever been to this area before and you can see how excited he is, that's what it's all about π₯°πΆπ³ I always mix up where I take the dogs so it doesn't become monotonous for them and I love trekking through the bushes with them πββοΈπΎποΈ

Showing off how far Rocco has come with his recall training. Before he would mostly only come because Layla came but this shows him coming all on his own β€οΈ. This is due to the combined efforts of myself and his owners working hard at his training. For a 1 year old dog, he's doing great!
Him coming upto me without me calling shows we've built a bond π I always praise and pet him when he does this as it continues to strengthen our bond which is essential when walking dogs, especially off leash.

Video #2 with regards to Layla and her ball. You can see her body language is very relaxed, when Rocco tries to take it, she calmly moves it away. This is the desired behaviour
And Rocco rolling over the ball just made me day π€£ but he will also be learning that he can't just take what another dog has so positives all round π
So last week I shared a video stating Layla was becoming more rounded. In the video below you'll see the blue ball which is Laylas favourite thing in the world (except for me of course π€£). She has been possessive of this in the past and will give a low growl when dogs get too close to it. This is called resource guarding and I would like to highlight this is the only thing Layla gets possessive over. For this reason I would not take this ball out on group walks. As stated I have seen signs showing she is more willing to share so last week I allowed her to take it on our group walk for the first time - I would like to highlight I have been watching Laylas behaviour for weeks and would not do this unless I believed it safe to do so.
So after a long rant, the whole point is you can see in the video that she shows absolutely no aggression or resource guarding, even when Rocco manages to get it from her, she very gently takes it back. As a dog owner and walker, this is great to see shows how these types of socialisation can make a positive impact π
I literally got wrapped around a tree here but it was great fun π€£πΎ only got a few seconds of the chase though
So when we're out I like to give them the first half hour to explore and sniff and then the last playing with the balls. My dog Layla knows I have the balls in my bag and always walks beside me till I give it to her. Rocco has now started copying her π€£ I look like I have the 2 best trained dogs around who won't go further than 5 feet away π
It's the small things in life π§‘
I took advantage of the beautiful Scottish weather and the fact that hardly anyone was in the park. I allowed Rocco to walk off leash and he done great π

Second walk with Rocco and took him out with my dog Layla. As stated in the video, my dog Layla is not showing aggression, she is just very vocal when she plays and you can see in the video there is no aggression and Rocco is happy to play. My dog is trained and off lead at all times. Two of them got on great π
