Pawsome can also be contacted for assistance with Fit-2-Fly Health Certificates & also Export Health Certificates (EHCs) From 1st January 2021, the way we travel with our pets to the EU changed. The 'old-style' UK issued Pet Passport is NO longer valid for travel. The new system involves the completion of a new travel document called an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for each trip across to EU co
untries. Our experienced Official Export Vet Paul, here at Pawsome Pet Travel is able to advise on the entire process involved in planning a trip with your pets. An overview of the steps involved in getting the travel document can be found on our website www.pawsomepettravel.com along with other important information such as documents required, timelines and costs involved. Your pet's regular Vet plays an important part by:
- Microchipping your pet
- Scanning your pet for its microchip BEFORE giving the Rabies vaccination
- Recording in the clinical notes that they scanned your pet BEFORE giving the Rabies vaccination
- Providing, upon request by you - the pet owner, the Pawsome Pet Travel team with access to the clinical notes so that the necessary document checks can be completed
Pawsome Pet Travel will:
- Keep you informed of what documents & information is needed in order to complete the Animal Health Certificate
- Will review your pet's regular Vet's clinical notes in relation to the microchipping and administering of the Rabies vaccine
- Will arrange an appointment for you to bring your pet to our home to scan the microchip and complete the Animal Health Certificate. Important Points:
- Pets need to be at least 12 weeks old BEFORE they are vaccinated against Rabies.
- A new AHC is required for each trip to Europe.
- Dogs, Cats & Ferrets can travel to Europe on an AHC.
- Up to 5 pets can travel on a single AHC (if you are travelling with more than 5 pets please speak to the team).
- The regular Vet MUST include in their clinical notes that they scanned the microchip BEFORE giving the Rabies vaccination.
- The AHC cannot be issued until at least 21 days AFTER the pet has received its primary Rabies vaccination course.
- The AHC is valid for entry into the EU for up to 10 days after the date of signing, with the date of issue being counted as day 1 of the 10 days.
- The AHC is valid for travel within the EU for up to 16 weeks from the date of issue.
- If you are travelling directly to some countries in Europe, they will require dogs to be treated for Tapeworm by a Vet no sooner than 24hrs but no longer than 120 hours BEFORE entering: speak to one of our team about this (Finland, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Malta & Norway). Costs:
