🎆🐾 Help Keep Animals Safe During Fireworks 🐾🎆

Fireworks season can be distressing for our beloved pets and local wildlife. With their sensitive hearing, the loud bangs and whistles can be frightening—even painful—for them. But there are steps we can take to help animals feel safer and more comfortable. 🌈

Update Microchip Details: Now is the perfect time to check that your pet’s microchip info is current. If they get spooked and bolt, it’s the best way to ensure a quick reunion.

🐶 For Dogs: Create a cozy, quiet space filled with their favorite toys and chews, like stuffed Kongs. Adding calming music can help drown out the sound of fireworks and soothe their nerves.

🐱 For Cats: Provide hiding spots where they can retreat and stay undisturbed. Keep them indoors to prevent any accidents, and play soft music to help them feel more secure.

🐰 For Small Animals: Cover outdoor pens partly with blankets to block noise, leaving space to look out. Add extra bedding for burrowing, and consider bringing them indoors.

🐴 For Horses: Planning ahead is key. Check for local firework events, speak with organizers about nearby horses, and follow BHS guidelines to keep them safe and calm.
