🐾TRAINING TUESDAY🐾 Hello it's Gayle the trainer here at Woofs & Whiskers. Let's talk recall! Just for a moment, imagine those birds were another dog showing signs of aggression or perhaps a child who is learning how to ride a bike in a park... You wouldn't want your dog to run up to them incase injury is caused to them, another dog/animal or person. So having a good recall is extremely important. It takes time to build up good foundations before letting your dog be fully off lead. For the purpose of the video I wanted to allow Ivy to initiate a chase with the bird to show how instant their response should really be when asked to come back to you. If you are finding that teaching your dog recall is challenging do not hesitate to get in touch. It's one of my favourite things to teach and is actually really quite fun (I promise)! Top tip: sometimes in real life situations we can change our tone due to being worried or scared so it's always good to practice using different tones so that if it comes to it you will still get them to come back to you. #dogtraining #positivereinforcement #kindandgentleteaching
