Our very own Denzel was admitted in to care with gastroenteritis, when he appeared lethargic and off his food (which is very unlink Denzel!), then began being sick.
Luckily Denzel's owner noticed his signs quickly to allow us to provide him with the best care possible. After thorough investigations to diagnose the cause, Denzel was managed in our hospital with fluids and medications to help his body to recover.
Gastroenteritis is a common condition that causes inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach and intestines). It will most commonly display as vomiting and diarrhoea, but may also show more subtle signs of lethargy, going off their food and being quieter at home. If you feel your dog is displaying any of these signs, it is important to contact your vets for an appointment or advice on at home care.
Thankfully he has now recovered well and bounced back to his normal, hungry self - go Denzel!
