Great session tonight and we got finished before the rain started. Won't be long before we need our head torches
The challenges Kali, Ona and Davi over came tonight was finding the confidence to find and take food from trail layers they didn't know and trail past other dogs. All 3 were on fire and absolutely aced their trails
Team Clova as always aced the challenges set for them
Thanks to all

Mantrailing dates for September will be up next week
I have a bit of time off in September as well as getting my teeth into UKSS so not as many dates as usual
I put a poll up to ask what you wanted with regards to your Mantrailing journey, the most popular suggestion was the shorter skills session so I'm going to be putting 2-3 off these on, lasting 2 hours and costing £18.
These skill sessions will be 1 short trail and a trail dedicated to your choice of skill, that you want to work on. Informing me before hand to plan will help these shorter sessions to work. Aged and longer trails will not be included in these short sessions
Those wanting to start their Trail ID can do this within these shorter skill sessions
If you have any questions with regards to these changes please don't hesitate to shout

Some information on how I'm planning to offer the wonderful new scent sport that is UKSS
So far there are 2 taster sessions on offer , both fully booked. On the taster sessions there will be a chance to get a bite size taste of the 3 elements
Scent match

Catnip retrieve
Trail ID will be offered as part of my shorter skill sessions that will be on offer from September, these will be a 2 hour session and costs £18. Please note you must be on a scent article start to be able to take part in Trail ID
The catnip retrieve and scent match will be offered on a group class setting. You can choose which element that you want to work on for 4 weeks.
Scent match will be the 4 week Monday block 7-8 pm
Catnip retrieve will be the Sunday morning block

Please contact me direct if you want to book a space on either of the 4 week classes

A very different session tonight litterally hassled to the extent we had to leave the location we were at, one we have used for years
So apologies to all on the session
Thankfully it didn't put any of the teams off as we moved to a different location and got on with the trails.
The dogs were excellent and their humans were not bad either
Well done
Harley & Jan
Benji, Niko & Laura
Davi & Lesley
Hazel and the Sas
Thank you for all being so patient and understanding

Answers to some of the questions I've been asked about UKSS
🐾 Does my dog have to have done scent work before.
No previous experience required for scent match, Kong, or catnip retrieve. For trail ID your dog must be on a scent article starts.
Simple solution to this is either take up Mantrailing or join me for the Mini Mantrailing element of the UKSS
🐾 Do I have to take part in all 4 elements.
Absolutely not , do 1, do the 4 or do whatever element you and your dog enjoy
🐾 Is there a competition element
There is going to be one, BUT , you can either compete or not
🐾 How old does my dog need to be
6 months upwards, ALL senior dogs and humans WELCOME
🐾 Do we train indoors or out
At present outdoors, I'm on the hunt for a venue and will offer both indoors and outdoor classes
🐾 Can my reactive dog take part
Those who know me will know of my passion to include nervous and anxious dogs. If your dog can feel safe from a distance then they can take part, especially in the outdoor fields. The indoor venues will be more challenging for some dogs, for those dogs I'm going to run classes where the dogs will be worked 1 at a time. I will also be offering 121's
🐾 How long will the classes run
At present the taster sessions are 1.5 hours, the classes will be 45 minutes, working on individual elements, so a class for catnip retrieve and another for scent match
Trail ID will be included in my monthly skills sessions, so a 2 hour session working specifically on Trail ID
🐾When are you going to start on the Kong element
This is the element I myself is the least experienced in. So I'm working away in the background with my 2 dogs. So itl happen at some point
🐾Will I be assessed on the elements
Only if you want to, there are 5 different levels to each element and that's just league 1, there's many more leagues to come
🐾Can I practice this at home
You absolutely can, why just have fun in the classes
🐾 What is the cost
The cost will vary from taster sessions to 4 week classes, 6 week classes, assessment classes and Trail ID sessions
Please have a read blow
Every dog wanting to take part after the taster session must register
Any more questions please add onto this post 😁
To participate in assessments or competitions, you will need to register your dog and receive a UK Scent Sport ID number. Click below to register your dog

Today I would like you all to send all our love to the family of Wilson the 5 and half year old Shepherd, he collapsed at the weekend and couldn't be revised
Wilson known as Big W***y was looked after 4 days a week by my friend Jackie, he joined me and my teams on our dog walks, 4 days a week
I've known this boy since he was weeks old, he attended all my classes and my forrest walks, he was a beautiful soul inside and out.
He was Flo's number one choice when she was in season and scared the life out of him as she tried to seduce him.
We knew Wilson wouldn't be here forever, he unfortunately came from a breeder, who let's just say wasn't the best.
He had springy legs and flat feet, we often joked he would never have got into the Police
It's absolutely devastating to lose such a young dog, he should have had so many years ahead of him
Our love and thoughts go to Janice his Mum and Jackie his number 2 mum
Stand down Wilson your job here is done 💔
