🐻🐾 JASPER 🐾🐻

16 year old Jasper came to the practice today for a blood pressure check and his booster vaccine. He was the most patient little gentleman whilst the nurse measured his blood pressure and even gave us a lovely sing song throughout his visit. ♥️

This lovely girl is Lola♥️

Lola has been struggling with her arthritis recently and not been her usual bubbly self. Vet Sam decided to trial Lola on an alternative pain relief plan which has her feeling like her old self again! 😁

BEAN and OCHO 🐒🧡🫘

Bean is a regular here at C&G, often accompanied for moral support by his little brother Ocho. We have been working with Bean slowly building up his trust and confidence to trim those fast growing nails of his!💅🏻

The team have found singing a song to Bean is what helps calm him most. We are so proud of how far he’s come!☺️💪🏼

Our team have recently been working alongside the wonderful SSPCA to provide veterinary treatment to an influx of dogs that had been brought into their care 🐶 🩺

The SSPCA have released an urgent appeal for donations to allow them to continue their work caring for all of these animals— if you can help please click the link in the post below:

📢 URGENT APPEAL: OUR BIGGEST RESCUE YET 📢

During the first ten days of October, our teams were faced with an unprecedented situation. 216 dogs and puppies have come into our care, having been rescued from squalid conditions.

Many were suffering from severely matted fur, painful dental disease, and inflamed, irritated ears. Some puppies were just weeks old, and in desperate need of care.

We’re working round the clock to do everything we can, but we can't do it alone. We estimate it will cost £1,223.80 to look after just one of these animals.

We are urgently calling on our incredible community to help with the cost of helping these puppies and dogs recover and find their forever home. Please share this story and support us in helping these animals. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a massive difference. 💜

Our team have had fun getting in the Halloween spirit and dressing up the furry staff this week👻🐾

As we look forward to trick or treaters tonight, please remember to keep your treats away from your beloved pets!🍬🍫

Did you know chocolate and many sweets containing the ingredient xylitol are toxic to dogs? If ingested, these are classed as emergencies and you should contact your vet immediately to begin the treatment process. 🚨

🥰MOG🥰

This week’s patient of the week is a 2 and a half month old kitty called Mog! Mog was in for her second vaccines, she barely made a peep and she even gave us her best loaf🍞 well done Mog! ✨

Did you know one of the number one causes of foreign body obstructions are corn on the cobs ? 🌽

A lot of you will already know one of our staff pets Crumble. Crumble decided to steal and swallow a corn on the cob on Monday night. She was immediately taken to the out of hours hospital who gave her an injection to make her sick. Thankfully she was able to bring the whole thing back up and avoid foreign body surgery!

Corn cobs do not break down in the stomach, therefore had this been left the outcome could have been very different.

Obstructions can cause pets to become extremely ill very quickly and in many cases can be life threatening.

Accidents happen and we know all too well how sneaky pets can be! If you suspect your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t have, get in touch with your vet immediately and they will be able to offer advice and support moving forward.

🎾🐶 BENNY 🐶🎾

Benny is a 5 month old springer spaniel who has been coming in to see us monthly to get weighed for his flea, tick and worming treatment. We first saw Benny when he was a little pup and it’s been lovely to watch him grow into the clever boy he is today! Benny sat great for his weighing which he got rewarded for with some tasty chicken bites 😋

❤️‍🩹DEJ❤️‍🩹

Dej is only 9 weeks old but has already spent the night at the vet school after he was very poorly. He came to us afterwards with a cute little sock on over his IV catheter to stop him from chewing his line, like most mischievous puppies would! Dej was very big and brave during his visits with us, well done wee guy! ✨
