It is all too easy to judge coats getting to this stage, but it happens so easily, especially at this time of year. Sometimes you don’t even notice how it’s getting because the top coat looks grand, it’s just the undercoat that is getting all pelted underneath like this example. In these cases, the kindest option is to do a full lion cut and start over, with a follow-up maintenance appointment in about 7-8 weeks time and then a regular schedule after that.
My prices are tiered as I believe in the maintenance of a coat, rather than more extreme once or twice a year shave downs. If the coat is kept tangle-free in the meantime and its personal preference, that’s one thing- but letting the matting build up over a 6-8 month window without any combing out? Thats no good for you, the kitty, or the groomer 😅
I see so many clients who are only recently finding out cat grooming is a thing, so please don’t let the fear of reaching out for help that you didn’t know existed stop you and you kitty from getting on a good grooming routine! Any cat groomer will tell you we are 100% here to help, not judge, educate, and cuddle your cats…I mean obviously 🙄😹

The amount of FLOOF that comes off post-bath in the dryer 🙀 My DryVac is an absolute game-changer in freeing cats of their dead fur/undercoat that would otherwise end up in your house, or their stomachs 🤢

This rescued lady started out nervous about the grooming process but after some detangling, trimming, and a wee shampoo massage she was a purring machine!! Such an absolute darling to meet ❤️
Morning snuggles with my own floof fill my cup to overflowing. Cats are so, so special, and it means the world to me to have such trusting clients with your kitties. I know how hard it is to put them through something as stressful as grooming can be for them, but I will always do what I can to make it as calm as successful of an experience for them as possible, because while WE know it’s for their own good, they just don’t get it, bless them 😅 Lots of snuggles before and after are a must! ❤️
