Penelope's was originally established by Lauren in 2017 as Penelope's Dog Grooming and we have recently expanded into Penelope's Dog Spa & Nursery!

We provide experienced and patient grooming services in our salon along with expert care daycare in our brand new nursery - all of our staff are first aid trained by Archangel First Aid Training and have also went through behavioural training with The K9 Way and this will be continued monthly to keep on top of everything and ensure that all of your dogs are safe and happy whilst in our care

Our new kindergarten classes start this Friday 🧸

Your pup can join us for the next four Friday afternoons (2pm - 6pm) and they’ll spend their time socialising, learning and having fun 😇

Each block costs £40 and the first one starts this Friday, 25th of November ✨ The next block will be starting the 6th of January

We are now enrolling for our brand new kindergarten class 😇

This class is specifically designed for pups 6 months and under to socialise, learn and have fun 🎉

Our first block will be starting this Friday (25th of November) and run every Friday for four weeks! Drop off is 2pm and pick up 5pm - 6pm 🐶

A little update on our Katie as I know a lot of you have been thinking about her the past few days 🥰

On Sunday night we had to take Kate to Vets Now where she was kept in the ICU for emergency care overnight and all day Monday - we had several chats with three different vets and it wasn’t looking good for her at all, we went back to see her on Monday night ready to say our goodbyes and help her cross over to the bridge ❤️ However in true Kit Kat style as soon as she spotted us she perked right up and against vet advice we decided to bring her home and monitor her ourselves! Katie is a very complex dog and no vet will deny that - she defies the odds every day with all of her medical problems! She really shouldn’t be here but somehow she manages and as you all know she is the happiest little dog despite all of her issues 😇

We’re not completely out of the woods yet and she has had another seizure today but she is doing extremely well all things considered and we are so happy we brought her home as it’s the best place for her 🐶

Thank you so much to everyone who has sent well wishes, checked up on us and prayed for our Kate! She’ll be back at work on Thursday to greet you all at reception x

Christmas Holiday Dates 🎅🏼

The nursery and spa will finish up for the year on the 24th of December and re-open from the 3rd of January ❄️

How handsome is regular nursery boy George? 🥰

If any of our nursery students have any jumpers or jackets it’s a good idea to bring these along with you - we’ll pop their jumpers on when it’s cold and if it starts to rain we can swap them for jackets so they aren’t sitting in damp jumpers! ❤️ Let’s keep all our pups nice and cosy this winter ❄️

B&M and Home Bargains have some great jumpers at a really reasonable price if anyone is looking to get some ✨

Just a couple of little informative things to let everyone know of some changes being made 🌸

• after 5 and a half years of just being Lauren and one other staff member we have went from being a team of 2 to a team of 14 - when contacting us via socials or phone for appointments and enquiries it won’t always be Lauren who answers anymore - we now have someone on reception to answer all enquiries! If you need to speak to Lauren you can always just ask for her over the phone or email [email protected] 💌

• in 2023 Lauren will also be cutting her hours down in the salon as there is a lot more to do behind the scenes and with the nursery now! Wednesdays will be her admin day going forward so she won’t be available for spa appointments! ✂️ We have Amy who has finished her training and Sydney who is now helping out as an assistant and will be starting her training in 2023 hopefully! You can book an appointment with Amy by scrolling down to “full grooms with Amy” on the booking link 💖 Amy is a great groomer and I can always give her exact instructions on how I cut and style dogs so that she does them the same as I do 🐶

• our 2023 diary is also now open, if you make a years worth of appointments at a time then please email Lauren ([email protected]) and she will get all of your 2023 appointments booked in for you 🎉

Now that Halloween is over it’s sadly time to say goodbye to our pumpkin patch! 😭 But some of our dogs love the pumpkins so much that we thought we’d leave a few for just a couple more days 🎃

We’ve got our spa and firework desinsitisation activity this week and then bubble butts next week before we start getting into the festive spirit 🫧

This weeks nursery activity 🫧

This week we are working on firework desensitisation to help our pups settle down and be able to handle what could be a stressful weekend for them! Whilst your dog has a mini spa pamper we’ll have fireworks playing in the background - this will hopefully help them to relax and get used to the sounds to save them from becoming frightened this bonfire weekend 🤞🏼

For their pamper they will be treated to a relaxing peach facial, ear clean, nose and paw balm and we’ll finish it off with a calming tea tree and patchouli fragrance spray 😇

The lovely Stella was the first to test out our new equipment to make sure it was completely bully proof 😂

We’ve now got a large ball pit, ramp, steps, bridge and a fun castle for all of the dogs to play with 💖
