We are holding a social evening to say thank you to all our directors, show associates and helpers who worked hard this year to put on our annual show 🥂

East Kilbride Open Cattle Show Society is made up of volunteers who give up their time to put on our show every year, which is a not-for-profit event. We are a registered charity who rely on volunteers and helpers in order to run such a successful show every year. We do our best to accommodate everyone and welcome feedback in order to better our show for the future. We've already come away with ideas and suggestions from this years show of areas to improve for future shows.

Yeehaa 🐮🤠

Get ready to grab the bull by the horns on show day! 🐮

The Plover Rodeo Bull will be at the show from 11am - 4pm so come along and have a shot at seeing how long you can stay on! Tokens can be bought at the Entertainment Hub on the show field 🎟

It will then be moving inside to the main marquee for competitive bull riding in the evening - adults only! The winner will receive a £50 prize to spend at the bar 🍻

The rodeo bull has been very kindly supported by Plover Hygiene this year. They provide safe and sustainable solutions for industrial/commercial cleaning, pest control, and waste management problems. Check them out on their page Plover Hygiene for more info!

We have free parking! The show is located in the fields behind PlaySport at West Nerston House, G74 4NZ. Watch the video pinned to the top of this page for directions!

If you're not driving but would like to attend the show we have a free shuttle bus service running 🚌

It will be running from The Village Show Park in East Kilbride to the show field.

It's operating from 12 noon to 6pm with the last return trip at approximately 5.45pm.

The Show Committee would like to thank Go West Transport Service for supporting this service.

We kindly ask that all users respect the driver and vehicle. There will be a no tolerance policy applied to this service!

⁉️ DID YOU KNOW ⁉️

During lambing season, heavily pregnant sheep can get stuck on their backs and are unable to get them selves back up right.

Sheep left in this position for long periods of time can die and be vulnerable to attacks from birds and other animals.

What you can do:

▪️ Contact the farmer so they can go and quickly get the sheep back to it's feet.

▪️ If you're unable to do the above then you can help the sheep.

How:

Firstly, if you have a dog with you, make sure it is kept on a lead at a safe distance away from the sheep. The sheep could see the dog as a threat and add more stress, which can be fatal.

To tip the sheep back over - gently roll and push them over back to their feet.

The sheep may sit for a few minutes if they are disorientated from being upside down. Some sheep can fall over again if they get up fast and try to run. Don't panic! Just repeat the gentle roll over again.

Once the sheep is back upright retreat back to a safe distance where you can observe them in case they fall over again.

If you notice they have been harmed by other animals, e.g pecked by birds, please contact the local farmer.

If you're in the countryside, keep a look out! You could save a sheep's life 🐑💗

East Kilbride Farm Show is host to an outstanding line-up of vintage tractors, who make their way to the show to go on display for the public and take part in the Vintage Tractor Parade.

Meet Brum the Fordson Major who has joined in on show days previously with us. When she has had a tidy up and a wash, of course! 🪣🧽

She likes to proudly fly her Scottish flags, whether she is on show, on tractor runs, or working at home on the farm!

Today Brum is spending this soggy wet Thursday splitting logs but look out for her on Saturday 29th July at our annual show 🎉
