Canine Ambassador is the new pioneering dog and puppy training programme which aims to take dog guardianship in the UK to a new level. Promoting responsible dog guardianship, with dogs who are happy, well balanced, comfortable in day to day life and the world a

Whilst working within the dog industry it was apparent to our trainers there was a gap in the market for a programme which covered guardian education and responsibilities, environmental conditioning, obedience and most importantly, the emotional and physical well-being of the dog. A comprehensive dog and puppy training programme which has been created aiming to develop the dog you can take any place any time, meeting legal requirements and public expectations in terms of the control that a handler has over their dog's behaviour. The programme by Canine Ambassador is unlike any other, and designed to be fun for both dog and guardian, with sessions held in a variety of accessible, central locations. LEARN MORE

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Here at Canine Ambassador, we focus on more than just the sit, stay and basic commands. Life experiences and relationships are just as important as obedience. An obedient dog may follow instructions, but a well behaved, worldly dog needs less instruction in it's life. We use relationship based training methods and the vast majority of our training is positive reinforcement reward based. However, we understand that dogs like every other mammal on this planet learn from both positive and negative consequences. Therefore unwanted, aggressive behaviour doesn't go unchecked, using minimal aversives. We always aim to teach an alternative behaviour and coping skills once the aggression has been interrupted. We focus on good leadership, not domination and don't believe in the old Alpha tales that dogs walking ahead of us or going through doors before us is that of a dog dominating the handler. It's simply not true! With a strong focus on handler education through short videos, and a free copy of our digital handbook - which aims to answer each and every question about dog welfare, behaviour and development - we strive to be the middle ground between the traditional dominance based training and positive only methods. Relationship between dog and handler is crucial for communication. Our aim is for a dog that favours the relationship with the handler. Not one that causes your dog to be attracted to or defensive of every dog it sees or encounters. We practice fun relationship building and obedience exercises, but we also encourage discipline and respect within the relationship, which we believe to be crucial to a well adjusted dog that can go anywhere, anytime.

The insinuation that this type of training is cruel is infuriating to many good dog trainers.

It seems they would like us all to abandon real dog training for snuffle Mats and throwing buckets of hot dogs on the floor.

It's the dogs that suffer!

Returners .

At CA we offer a small discount to clients that return with their pooches for a second block.

We've always had a high level of returning clients.

Most clients do at least two blocks of classes.
Some have done three , four or five blocks .

Some return once per year or every couple of years.

We can't thank those clients enough for their commitment. On the downside Facebook only permits one review per person so they can't post a review for each block.

Looking forward to 2025 welcoming new and previous clients.πŸ™‚

How long does it take to train and socialise a dog? Unfortunately training and socialisation never stops . We have so many returning clients to Canine Ambassador because they see the improvement and realise their dog is constantly developing overtime. Those who return always get the best results through patience and persistence.

Great class on Saturday. Always extra special for myself after seeing some of these dogs on a 121 then seeing their development 12 weeks later. Amazing progress from committed owners.

At Canine Ambassador we live and breathe dogs. We do everything we can to ensure dogs live a happy well balanced life avoiding rehoming issues . Teaching owners how to control, influence and bond with their dog .While creating the ultimate platform to socialise and desensitise your dog to triggers. Some owners do one block, some might do three blocks while others might return once a year for refreshers. If you devote the time and effort we can guarantee your relationship with your dog will improve tenfold .

There are trainers that promote not teaching your dog to sit. They say asking a dog to to sit is unnecessary and cruel. Even asking it to sit for reward they say is unnecessary nevermind a compulsion sit. Generally these trainers don't take their dog out into the real world. In the majority of cases their dogs can't cope and need to be cooked up at home while they go places. If your dog is the decision maker in your relationship it will be stressed , anxious and struggle to cope in busy environments.
