Many pets find fireworks season difficult. If your pet needs a bit more help please get in touch. We have a limited number of appointments available and changes in the RCVS prescribing guidelines mean that you may need an appointment, even if you haven't in the past.
For the months of May and June we are offering FREE microchipping for new members of the Real Pets Health Club. It’s only £16.50 a month and makes it easy to manage your cat’s health against diseases and discomfort by ensuring your cat’s vaccinations, parasite control and general health are regularly maintained. This will give you peace of mind and allow you to budget for your pet’s routine veterinary care.

Feline Hyperthyroidism, a short case study:
“When my cat was 16 years old, I noticed that her appearance and some of her behaviours changed quite suddenly. She was very hungry, her coat wasn’t as sleek and shiny as it had always been and she started to lose weight. I arranged an appointment with the vet and, following an examination and discussion, the vet recommended taking a blood sample to check a variety of things, including her thyroid levels – this was carried out quickly and my cat wasn’t bothered by the procedure.
The vet contacted me the next day with the results. They advised me that she was hyperthyroid and discussed the different treatment options available. I considered the options and decided to try my cat on daily medication; this involves regular checks and repeat blood samples to ensure she is on the correct dose. Her medication dose has changed occasionally over the last year based on her blood results but apart from that she’s doing well.”
This video provides a good overview of feline hyperthyroidism symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
