We were delighted to see Didi at our sister practice Low Waters Veterinary Centre for her annual check and vaccination earlier this month.

Didi first came to us as a very healthy kitten in 2022. Unfortunately early in 2023 Didi became very unwell and was found to have feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a viral disease of cats which up until very recently was a fatal disease. Recent developments have meant there is now a treatment for FIP but it was only in 2021 that a legal treatment was available in the UK.

The course of treatment for Didi took a lot of dedication from her owner, who had done a lot of research into the disease and available treatment herself. She required 12 weeks of daily medication and regular monitoring to ensure that she was responding well. Thankfully, Didi did amazingly well on the treatment. There is always a risk of relapse when the medication stops but it has now been approximately 18 months since Didi completed the 12 week course and we were so happy to see her looking so well at her recent visit!!

Didi was the first pet we have treated in the practice for FIP since the treatment became available and we were all so pleased she is doing so well 😻😻 😻

Many pets find fireworks season difficult. If your pet needs a bit more help please get in touch. We have a limited number of appointments available and changes in the RCVS prescribing guidelines mean that you may need an appointment, even if you haven't in the past.

It's that time of year again! Many pets find fireworks season difficult. If you feel that they might need a bit more help please get in touch. Some medications need to be taken for 2 weeks beforehand in order to get maximum benefit and some may require a visit before we can prescribe them.

We've sadly had a deceased cat handed in to the practice. Its a black entire male with no microchip and was found on Lochdochart Road.

Lots of pets find firework season difficult. Please get in touch through Petsapp to see how we can help. Some pets may need to be seen by a vet even if they haven't in the past due to the new prescribing guidelines - please make sure you get in touch as soon as possible to arrange an appointment. In order to get maximum benefits some medications need to be started a couple of weeks in advance
