DID YOU KNOW? 🤔
The saliva of mammals such as cats, dogs and even humans is dangerous to our feathered companions?🤤⚠️
Our saliva, as well as the saliva of other mammals, contains what is known as ‘gram-negative bacteria’.
Gram-negative bacteria are a specific type of bacteria that can cause infections throughout the body.
E.coli is an example of a ‘gram-negative bacteria’. This type of bacteria can be present in our bodies and in normal amounts is harmless. Our bodies are well equipped to fight and protect against the infections caused by these bacteria.
Parrots on the other hand DO NOT have any gram-negative bacteria present in their systems and cannot fight these infections. 🤒
Care must be taken to avoid spreading potentially harmful bacteria to your parrot, whether it's not allowing them to share your utensils or not trying to re-enact that scene from Lady and the Tramp.
We also advise that other pets are never left unsupervised with a parrot because of the many risks involved including the spread of gram-negative bacteria on their bodies and in their saliva.
Leave it to the parrots! 🦜😍

Parrot bites can be sore - big time! 😫
Don't forget - when birds bite it's for a reason - it's not their fault if we don't understand them but it's our job to try.
Here's a handy wee guide that may go some way to help.

PARROT FACT!
Depending on where you pet your parrot, you could be sending them the wrong message. This can result in confusion for your bird and be the basis for aggressive and self-mutilating behaviour.

I have an owner looking to rehome their bunny.

See their message below.

Fudge is 6 year old, he's a house rabbit and been neutered. He's lionhead and very cute.

Due to personal circumstances we are having to give him away.. here are some pics of my boy.

Drop off and collection is by arrangement between 5.30pm and 7.30pm Monday to Friday.

Not available Saturday.

Between 10am and 12 noon Sunday.

Where possible I'll try to accommodate other requests.

Please also pop me a message if you expect to be late. Often theres several animals coming and going so missed timing's can have quite a knock on for the next client and for personal arrangements.

Thanks for understanding.

We have been asked to help over 20 rabbits this week and we are struggling for space to help them all..we are urgently looking for foster homes for rabbits and we are looking for you to have your own set up for them….they need a hutch plus a run we don’t place rabbits in a hutch alone they must have space to hop,dig and exercise…we know it’s a huge ask but if anyone can help please pm us 🐰

Morning all.
Just a quick reminder of the drop off / pick up times....

Closed Saturday.
10am till 12 noon Sunday.
As always I will arrange a more specific time closer to the date of board as I may have multiple owners to accommodate.

If owners could please take these times into account when booking to avoid being unable drop off or collect.
Many thanks

𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠!🐰🐰

We all know rabbits must live in pairs or groups to be happy - but these should always be neutered!

REMEMBER...
🛡Even if your female rabbit is spayed, an uncastrated male will still try to mount her, which can trigger fighting and will cause stress to both rabbits.
🛡If you only neuter your male rabbit and leave your female unspayed, she could experience repeated ‘false pregnancies’ and likely become aggressive and be at risk of uterine cancer.

If you have any books in the house that are gathering dust we will be more than happy to take them in to give them a new home. All genres welcome 🙂
