Help Us Help Rabbits, Just £2 Can Save a Life!

Did you know Beloved Rabbits is run entirely by volunteers, no paid staff, just passionate people dedicated to giving abandoned and neglected rabbits a second chance. But right now, our funds are running dangerously low, and we’re struggling to cover even the most basic costs.

Every rabbit we take in needs food, hay, fresh bedding, and medical care. Vet bills alone can be overwhelming, especially for those arriving sick or injured. Neutering, vaccinations, and emergency treatments all add up, and without funding, we can’t continue to help the rabbits who need us most.

That’s why we’re asking for just £2, less than a cup of coffee! We need your help urgently to provide critical immediate funds so that we can keep our doors open, provide essential care, and find loving homes for these wonderful animals.

Unable donate? You can still help! Sharing this appeal helps us reach more people who might be able to contribute. Every share means more chances for bunnies get the help they need.

Please donate today and help us save more rabbits. Every pound counts.

☢***SAFETY ALERT***☢

NOT ALL CINNAMON IS REAL CINNAMON!
Be careful what cinnamon you feed your beloved wee beaks!

Parrots can safely eat powdered or whole-stick Ceylon cinnamon. It can even be healthy for them, especially if it's high-quality, organic cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon is high in Vitamin K, Vitamin E and potassium. It is also believed to be antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and high in antioxidants.

However, they CANNOT eat Cassia bark (sometimes called Chinese Cinnamon) - it's not real cinnamon and it's NOT SAFE for parrots because of the extremely high levels of coumarin, a blood thinner that is TOXIC and even a small amount can cause liver damage and/or liver failure.

DID YOU KNOW? 🤔
The saliva of mammals such as cats, dogs and even humans is dangerous to our feathered companions?🤤⚠️
Our saliva, as well as the saliva of other mammals, contains what is known as ‘gram-negative bacteria’.
Gram-negative bacteria are a specific type of bacteria that can cause infections throughout the body.
E.coli is an example of a ‘gram-negative bacteria’. This type of bacteria can be present in our bodies and in normal amounts is harmless. Our bodies are well equipped to fight and protect against the infections caused by these bacteria.
Parrots on the other hand DO NOT have any gram-negative bacteria present in their systems and cannot fight these infections. 🤒
Care must be taken to avoid spreading potentially harmful bacteria to your parrot, whether it's not allowing them to share your utensils or not trying to re-enact that scene from Lady and the Tramp.
We also advise that other pets are never left unsupervised with a parrot because of the many risks involved including the spread of gram-negative bacteria on their bodies and in their saliva.
Leave it to the parrots! 🦜😍

Parrot bites can be sore - big time! 😫
Don't forget - when birds bite it's for a reason - it's not their fault if we don't understand them but it's our job to try.
Here's a handy wee guide that may go some way to help.
