It's gotten cold!!!
Who's frozen?
Oor Susan has her winter coat on! First frost has arrived!
I often get asked how I get clips level.
It's easy.
I measure!
With my hands!
For this you need a good horse who will stand quietly and relatively square.

This pony uses to be sedated with previous owners for clipping.
Our first time we had domosedan on standby but didn't need it.
He was absolutely fine, but still sometimes tickly with his ears.
Now he loves it and gives me cuddles while he's almost sleeping ♥️
If this doesn't melt your stone cold hearts i don't know what will.
For all those who have asked how to blend the mane line without risking chopping into the mane itself!
Thought i would do a wee post instead of you searching for previous video x
Which way do you go?
I prefer to clip at an angle rather than directly against the grain for a much cleaner finish as shown.
I love sharp lines on a partial clip ♥️
Trimmers on their short setting do this job best x
A few people have commented about how my face lines are too low... "they won't be under the bridle line"...
Remember the bit rings have a bit of weight to them and take the cheekpiece to below the corner of the horses mouth.
The cheekpiece would then drop back a bit more when there is rein contact.
Blending up to the cheekbone would make the colour change in winter look odd in some cases but keeping the sharp line under the cheekpiece gives a nice frame between the colours.
My lines are exactly where I want them to be.
Apologies for the quality, I had to use a downloaded app to fetch this video from an old post.
Remember what a banging tune this was?
