With the passing of my Husband, I have had to make a few decisions for the future. My Husband always cared for the land, fence repairs etc. and odd jobs that needed tending to. With the weather we have had over the past year it has been very difficult for the boys and I to keep it all going. It’s been 10 months since Mike passed and I feel it is time for me to move on and do something new.
As most of you know David and I have worked together for a number of years, running the workshops and EFL Practitioner trainings which we have really enjoyed. We have had lots of fun, met some lovely people and are very proud that a lot of people that trained with us have gone on to run their own successful businesses. David has done an amazing job of looking after the herd here at Horse Haven Uk. We have thought long and hard about this and after much discussion we both feel it is time to retire and have an easier life.
We have around 6 acres of land, a very large house, way more than I need at my time of life so it’s definitely time to move on. I am looking for permanent, suitable EFL homes for Saffi, Twister and Leon (anyone interested send me a dm). They have been together for a very long time, are excellent therapy horses and they must stay together. Breeze will stay for a while with the donkeys until I decide what comes next.
September will be our very last Equine Facilitated Practitioner Training held at Horse Haven Uk. We had intended for July to be the last one but several people had holidays booked and have asked us to do another training. The last training will be September 9th – 13th. David and I will still be available for mentoring and any help or advice people may need after the training.
As of mid-September 2024, Equine Facilitated Practitioner Trainings will no longer be taking place at Horse Haven Uk in Somerset. The EFL Practitioner Training model as taught at Horse Haven Uk was written by myself, Suzannah Leighton and sent away for accreditation. I am transferring the “intellectual property and all rights to Ellen Whitfield of
Equi-connections, the training will still carry the accreditations and be run in the same way as the Horse Haven Uk model of training. Ellen did her Practitioner training here and has been successfully running an EFL business for many years helping lots of people along the way. In 2022 Ellen completed a Train the Trainers Programme here with myself and has since been successfully running Practitioner Trainings at her home in Carlisle, Cumbria. I wish Ellen all the best in this venture and I know she will do well. She has been a great ambassador for Horse Haven Uk and I am pleased to transfer the training rights to her. For me, I will still be here to offer any help and support that I can whilst Ellen takes over the reins. Please support Ellen at equi-connections.co.uk.
