Bring Boyle Back - Glossop

Bring Boyle Back - Glossop On Friday the 29th October 2021 at 11:30 we were involved in a traffic collision on High Street West, Glossop, just outside the Tesco garage.

Our cat Boyle has managed to escape the car and is missing. Please help us to bring Boyle back home.

It’s coming up to the two year anniversary since this little terror went missing! Time flies! We didn’t realise how long it’d been since we last posted. But Boyle is doing great. He embarked on another big adventure last year (we moved house!) and he took it all in his stride. Despite what happened in Glossop, he still very much loves the outdoors and he’s loving life in a big, yet VERY secure, garden. 🥰

Boyle is 6 years young today! He’s been enjoying time in the garden after being under house arrest for a few days 🥵🥳

Sorry the lack of updates. Boyle is spending most of his time sleeping on our bed. So you would only be bombarded with the same photographs. Once he is back to his usual weird self we will of course spam you all with pics! ❤️

In the meantime enjoy this lovely portrait one of Boyles Instagram friends did for him.

So at 3am we finally got the call we'd be waiting for. After many days of stalking him on camera and failed attempts at getting him into a trap he finally did it. Annoyingly we were both at home but Joanne and Wendy safely got him home to us at 3:40. He was found only three houses away from where we had last seen him the first night he went missing. He had made house under a lovely ladys flowerbed.

He came strutting in like nothing had ever happened. He has lost a little weight but nothing that he didn't need to lose. Other than that he is perfectly fit and healthy. We are so proud of how well he has done out there on his own. We honestly cannot thank Glossop enough. For all your kind words and support. For the food and drinks. The offer of a bed at night. For very thing everyone has done. Glossop will always hold a special place in our heart.

We are all home safe and sound right now but will be back over the weekend to help tidy up and take our remaining belongings. We will attempt to remove all of our posters but if you see any please feel free to take down ❤️

So a few people have commented or messaged asking for an update and I thought it would be easier just to publish a post.

We currently still do not have Boyle but we are certain of where he is now calling home and we are watching him closely every day via camera. The issue we have is that he is still not interested in food and the minute he hears anyone approaching he runs and hides. We have to be very careful how we approach this because if we get it wrong it could cause him to feel threatened and run and hide elsewhere. Taking us back to square one. Right now we are just happy that we can monitor him closely on camera and we can see that he is alive and well. Every day he appears to be getting more confident and showing more interest in the traps so hopefully soon we will have him back. For now we just have to be extremely patient and again ask that you do not feed him and do not actively begin to search for him ❤️

Thanks to everyone for the messages and advice and offers for help 🙂 we’re making good progress now with getting him back so we’re just asking everyone (politely) to stay away from where he’s hiding so he doesn’t become startled and run.

We’re so grateful that everyone wants to come down and get involved, but at this stage it really is best to take things slow and let him operate on his own terms.

We really hope this doesn’t come across as ungrateful, as we cannot put into words how much everyone’s kindness has meant to us, but we’re close to getting our boy home and we don’t want him to be scared by strangers and put us back to square one.

Thank you all so much ❤️❤️

He is still in the same place, and was seen on camera and in person several times. But he is just not interested in the food in the traps at all. 😞

Remember to not feed him and not approach him. This will help us in our efforts to capture him. We will be back tonight with a new tactic not involving food so 🤞🏻

⚠️ PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OUT FOR BOYLE ⚠️

It’s been brought to our attention that people might be leaving food out for Boyle. We beg please do not!!!! You might think you’re doing the right thing but this will hinder our efforts of capturing him tremendously!!! We need him to be hungry in order to go into the trap. It’s the the only chance we have of catching him. Please remove any and all food left out in gardens. We cannot stress how important this is. ❤️❤️ If you can get this message out around Pikes Lane, Queen Street, Sunlaws and Tredcroft - and any other surrounding streets. Please. 😭

Last night we had multiple CONFIRMED sightings of Boyle on one of our cameras. A million percent him. He looks incredibly well considering the circumstances. He’s very nervous and unsure of the trap so as of yet have not been unable to tempt him in. We have taken the decision not to disclose his whereabouts as we do not want people heading there thinking they’re helping when in fact they could jeopardise the whole thing. But things are looking very promising, and hopefully he will build up the courage to go into the trap. ❤️

Please do not leave food out for Boyle. We need him to be hungry in order to go in the trap!!

Is there anyone on here that works at the glossop Tesco? We’re a little bemused as to why our missing poster has been taken down just a couple of days after agreeing to put it up?!!

REWARD FOR SAFE RETURN!

It’s been over a week now since we saw our little boy. We’re absolutely heartbroken but trying to remain positive about his safe return. Please continue to be vigilant, don’t approach him or try to pick him up as he’ll just run. Try to take a picture if possible to send to us, and contact 07562932532.

Thank you all for your overwhelming kindness and support ❤️❤️

We've noticed a lot of people questioning why we're asking people not to approach Boyle and try to catch him. This is advice we've had from many professionals. When we saw him earlier on in our search he wouldn't come to us, so it is almost certain he would not go to a stranger. What we don't want is for him to feel unsafe and run further from where he was lost. He has obviously found a good hiding place where he feels safe and we want it to stay that way. What we ask is if you do see him remain calm and quiet and do not approach him. Take a clear a photo as possible and send it to us right away with the exact location in which he was seen. Therefore we can come with a camera and a trap and lay it in that area. The only hope we have to catch him right now is through his hunger and we hope that he will go into the trap to eat the food. We appreciate everyone wanting to help find him but we plead with you do not shout him and definitely do not try and catch him as it will only hinder our search. Please just be vigilant keep your eyes open and take pictures. This is extremely important and helpful to us and hopefully with your help we get Boyle home soon. ❤️

Day 6: Still no sightings. So please keep looking. We just want our boy home. 😭

We’ve been made aware of a British blue up for rehoming on a local page but this is not Boyle. For Boyle the distinguishing feature to help identify him is the blue eyes. 🐱

Due to us receiving prank phone calls we will no longer be answering to withheld numbers. If you need to contact us with a sighting please make sure your number is visible. ❤️

Still Missing. Cash reward for safe return

REWARD FOR SAFE RETURN!!! On Friday, the 29th of October 2021 we were involved in a road traffic collision on High Street West, Glossop. Our cat, Boyle, as escaped the car and ran. We live in Sheffield over 30 miles away so he is in an area he is unfamiliar with. He was last seen on Queen Street opposite the Tesco garage. The last sighting was 4:30 am Saturday morning. He is a very friendly cat but understandably is very scared and will run, even from us. Please report any sightings to this page so we can go and check it out. We ask that you do not approach him as we do not want him to run further. If possible take a picture so we can confirm it is him and we can go and try and find him. Everyone around Glossop has been incredibly supportive and we cannot thank you enough. I think together we can help bring Boyle back. ❤️

Please share this page far and wide
