The Stroud Road team would like to wish all our clients a very Happy Christmas and send a huge thank you to all those who have dropped in gifts. We are overwhelmed by your kindness and we will all need to go on a diet in 2025 !!!. We love what we do and are just grateful that it is so appreciated!
Everyone here will be taking a well-earned break over the next few days to catch up with our families, so remember to stop your dogs eating the mince pies and chocolate and keep your cats away from the tinsel and flower arrangements!
We will be closing from 12 noon on Xmas Eve and will be open again at 8:15am on the 27th. If you do have an emergency please call our usual number (01452 757000) and you will be transferred to the on call team at Wood Veterinary Group.

Lovely Little Leo was in for his checkup yesterday, and we were all thrilled that he was back to his bouncy self after Michael removed a teddy bear ear from his intestines last week. He was a very poorly Labrador Puppy indeed.

The mystery for Leos' mum and dad is that Leo doesn't own a teddy bear, let alone one that's missing an ear?

We have had a little bit of Xmas fun this week with our new photo booth! The fire in reception will hopefully make Helen feel a bit warmer during busy surgeries when the radiator heat escapes through the front door!!

Please join us in congratulating our lovely Emily on gaining a Merit in her Veterinary Nursing Assistant Exams. She has worked very hard to complete this whilst working full time, completing other studies, looking after her family and her assortment of dogs, cats and horse!!

STRAY KITTEN handed into the surgery this afternoon (Wednesday 6th Nov). Someone must be missing her, she looks to be well looked after. Found outside primary school in Tuffley.

Jots in-tray was full after a week on leave... poor Bob had a wound on his neck so had to come to work with mummy to have it cleaned and dressed. ( he makes a great work buddy !)

We would like to introduce you to Sarah (and Plum and Storm), the newest addition to the SRV team. Sarah is an experienced RVN with a special interest in nurse consultations, she will be working mostly afternoons and evenings but will be also covering other staff holidays. We would like to send her congratulations ... not only for getting a role with us , but also in her marriage (which happened only last week !!! )

*IMPORTANT NOTICE*
From this evening (30th September) our out-of-hours provider will be Wood Vet Group in Quedgeley. This decision to change has been with the best interest of our patients and clients in mind. Woods is geographically much closer for most of our clients and we know Becky and her team will provide the high standard of care we expect from an emergency medicine practice.
You will be directed through to Woods via our normal surgery number (01452 757000) should you require veterinary services on nights/weekends/bank holidays.

Our Friday teabreak was dedicated to wishing our lovely Evie a fond farewell (for now) and good luck in her new chapter.
Evie was our very first school work experience student in 2021. We have watched her grow.... From that week she became an evening helper and became so useful we trained her to be an employed assistant. She is now a valued member of the team, and has been a godsend this summer; covering reception and nurse holidays.
She is now off to uni to study to become a vet herself.
Good luck Evie!

We are please to announce that we are now running free weight clinics for our clients on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
When a pet is overweight it makes them susceptible to an array of other health concerns so its important to keep them to a healthy body condition.
Our experienced nurses will help you to help your pet shed those extra unwanted kilogrammes. Please call the surgery on 01452 757000 to make an appointment.
