New recruits today all from same house, Poppy, Coco and Boris. Owners got in touch as various issues across all three of them that have got to a point where they needed change and some guidance. We talked lots and did a bit of work on heel and issues within the house. Next catch up we will look at recall and ball games as brainwork. Early days with lots to do but they all started well today.

Early year update - if you want a lesson and can only be free on a weekend you are currently looking at a 4-6 week wait. If desperate for help and can use holiday to get weekday time off looking at 2 week wait.

New recruit today was Maia who is three quarter German shepherd and quarter Malinois. Beautiful dog but a few issues around her behaviour when people come to the house and on walks when she sees people, scooters etc. we addressed indoors first then went outside and saw what she was like. Tweaked what she’s walked on and her position when walking, and in the flick of a switch she was fab, walked past numerous people, some with small children and scooters all fab.. I’m told they’ve been back out since and any of her usual triggers non existent.. early days but massive steps taken today

New recruit today is Cleo who is an Alapaha.. photo doesn’t quite dinner size justice she’s one powerful girl. Issue is when she sees dogs she wants to go and say hello but her size and the noise she makes has people thinking she’s aggressive. As she is so strong trying to hold her is an issue so we tweaked how she is walked and on what.. early days but definitely a fixable issue just need to take our time and get each thing right before moving on.

Recent new recruit is Odin a 5 month old staffy pup. Just a typical staffy pup full of love and bounce and owners just wanted to work on a few various things from lead walking to recall etc. Had a walk see what was going on and then started to change how they walk and for how long plus making sure they keep him focused. But if heel work at the end and he was fab.. consistency and repetition now are key

Another new recruit today is Bella a sight hound who is a lovely natured dog until someone comes into the home. She’s clearly very anxious so we addressed a few things first on how she is handled and what owner says and does, within 15 mins of starting she was taking treats out my hand and she was way calmer. We ran various scenarios to make sure it was consistent and it was so now it’s repetition from the owners.

Xmas over and back to helping more owners and their beloved dogs. New recruits today are Heidi and Sandy who are currently being fostered from Aura’s Dogs UK with the hope to make it permanent. Sandy is a big strong lad and on walks can play up and has pulled one of the owners over so this needed rectifying. We went out today and walked lots, we tweaked how they handled him, walked towards dogs/past dogs and he was fab.. Heidi came along for the walk and they can repeat the same for her as she’s just full of bounce. Great dogs with a great future just needs some consistency moving forward.

Another new recruit today was Goose a fox red lab puppy (10 weeks old). A general puppy visit involving lots of discussion, pointers on how to start the process with training and just generally setting the family up for success. Early days and lots to do moving forward but right now they have plenty to work on.

New recruits today from same household are Jackson and Daisy.
Both had issues when it was walk time with barking, jumping around and just general noise causing issues for owners especially at 7am.
We had lots of discussion then tweaked things to change the game, Jackson immediately stopped so we left it a while then tried it with both of them at the end and bingo no issues. In between we discussed demand barking, tv barking etc and lots of discussion on what to do and when..
we will touch base in new year but they all showed today success is not far away.

New recruit today was Milo who’s 17 months old, rescued by his new owners and he’s been a great addition, except for his behaviour when on walks and he sees a dog. A loud pitched bark / whining/ pulling on lead and if he gets close he has tried to nip.
Lots of chat then off we went and saw him in action, time for school for Milo and some tweaks and we were away, calmer and better behaved now it’s about repetition.. walked him next to one of my dogs today so we know he can do this.. look forward to the changes

New recruit is Rosie an 8 month old Goldendoodle, lovely natured and full of bounce the latter causing some issues when people come to the house., other issues barking and her bouncy behaviour when she sees another dog. We addressed the barking initially then went for a walk, not many dogs about so I got one of mine out, we tweaked how Rosie is walked and she was fab.. we then re-ran the door being knocked and no barking and calm.. good first session and still more to do but they have plenty to go on with over the Xmas break.
