Boogie on his way to 4th place in the Discovery at CCR Equestrian last weekend. He managed to carry his ill rider around to jump a good clear! 🙈

Pauline and I are so pleased with how he has been performing recently. The plan was to just do a bit of showjumping before letting him down in December, but he’s really excelling himself.

I would absolutely love to qualify him for the Blue Chip championships this winter, so we’ll have a crack! 💙

Treatment from Hannah Cox Physio this week, plus a super session with Alan on Wednesday. 🐎

Boogie on his way to a brilliant clear at Little Gatcombe in the most awful weather 🌧️

Congrats to Oxstalls Cross Country - they did a fab job of keeping the show on the road. Despite the rain not letting up all day, the course rode well on a green 6yo who’s legs are usually here, there and everywhere 😂

Can’t wait to get him out to some indoor jumping venues this winter ❄️

Boogie 🥰

Little Gatcombe horse trials 🥉🥉🥉

In very testing weather conditions yesterday CVS Boogie Nights jumped a fantastic double clear to finish 3rd in the BE90.

Navigated his way through the mud in the Dressage to get a 32.5 score (improved on his Chard score!).

SJ I was a little worried about as he really hasn’t jumped much on grass and this has been our downfall this season. But maybe in the mud he doesn’t mind?! 😂 First time wearing front studs and a stud girth, he really wasn’t phased. Thought I’d see how he got on then perhaps withdraw before XC if it didn’t suit him. But he jumped the cleanest round to date!

XC - visibility wasn’t great when we set off (as you can see!!) I can’t see at the best of times hence the goggles I usually wear, but in conditions like this they’re a bit useless without mini wiper blades 🤣 anyway, luckily Boogie has better eyesight than me and managed a fantastic clear (through some tricky angled combinations too!) just picking up 2 time penalties. He really is turning out to be such a COOL horse!! 🦄

Huge thanks to Pauline Holcombe for all her help yesterday. She turned Boogie out to perfection (I’ll pop a photo in comments) before I completely ruined him, me and all our equipment in the mud 💦 😆

🥉 at Chard Equestrian BE horse trials a week ago.

Super proud of this 6 year old CVS Boogie Nights that I’ve produced right from the start with the help of a fantastic team ❤️ His first season eventing and first event in wet conditions.

Particularly please with how he took on this combo; a downhill run to a skinny brush followed by a curved line to a corner (pic from walking in comments). He was awesome 🚀

CVS Boogie Nights 🥰

This boy exceeded all our expectations yesterday! 👏👏👏

CVS Boogie Nights finished 3rd at Chard BE yesterday with a super double clear in very testing weather conditions to finish on his dressage score 🥳🥳

33 Dressage - it’s heading in the right direction. He’s just so big and gangly still, we do struggle to keep things together.

Clear SJ - a little spooky at the start as there was a presentation going on right next to the first fence with lots of clapping 😂 He’s got to get use to that ready for the future!

XC - this was quite a hilly course for him compared to his previous (pretty flat!) events this year. And with the driving rain we did a lot of slipping and sliding down some of the slopes. At one point I thought he might just be losing a bit of confidence with the footing and I understood that completely! But I gave him a little nudge and he was like “Ok mum, I can do this!”. 🐎🐎🐎

Can’t even tell you how proud Pauline and I are of him 🥺❤️

Thank you Pauline for all your help and support yesterday! And hope you’ve dried out! It was the worse weather I’ve competed in this year - soaked right through to my pants even after the dressage phase 😂
