Important information for existing clients 🙂

As many of you know I am soon to be expecting my first grandchild, due anytime over the next four weeks.
I have promised my soon to be daughter in law that if she requires me to be there at the time I will be there to support her.
This means that if this happens on a working day you might be asked to move your scheduled appointment last minute. My plan is that if this happens your pet will be groomed over the following weekend regardless,so they don't miss their grooms. If this happens mid groom the pet being groomed WILL be finished with the following grooms rescheduled,so don't worry you won't be receiving a half groomed dog back.
Of course baby's can arrive anytime day or night, so if this occurs overnight I will contact the following days clients to rearrange the appointments to the weekend.
I apologise in advance for any inconvenience this might bring to you when it happens and assure you that this should not disrupt your pets schedule greatly.

And I'm super busy getting ready to welcome my beautiful clientele back through the doors tomorrow!
I enjoyed a lovely holiday with my family and of course the lovely Priscilla, my golden oldie JRT.

I Can't wait to welcome everyone back again and get started😁😁

Information for customers

Please be aware that Drybrook Dog Groomers is currently fully booked until the end of July. If you need to reschedule your session for any reason please let me know asap in order for that session to be reallocated to another client waiting.
Rescheduled sessions will have to go to the nearest available appointment which is currently the last week of July.
As you know we get extremely busy during the summer with high demand for appointments so we would advise you keep your pre-booked appointment where possible.

Hot weather 🔥 contingency plan

Of course being in Britain we cannot guarantee hot weather sadly, but in the event of temperatures rising we have plans in place which will enable us to continue with your scheduled groom.
Here at Drybrook we are fortunate that the dog salon is located in a shaded area throughout the day,it's actually the coolest room in the house! 😃 New cooling fans are in operation where needed and we are able to have our secured doors open to allow for air flow also.
We will be judging daily the temperature and if it is safe for your pet.We will be also looking at each individual pets general health, wellbeing and grooming needs whilst making these decisions.Your pets comfort and safety is our number 1 priority.
Changes may occur to your pets groom time in order to use the cooler times of day. This means you might be asked to arrive earlier or that your pet might be here longer with a respite break at the height of the heat.
You might also be asked in rare circumstances to change venue to our sister salon Hudson's in ruardean where we have Aircon. These decisions will be made day by day and always with your pets health and wellbeing in mind.

Please note that we are grooming slightly shorter but still scissor styled for the summer where coat condition allows. Please let us know if you still require a longer length.

Transformation Thursday 🙂

Bichon frise Taffy was amazing for his groom today, he's always a good boy for his 'auntie Lisa' ❤️

As a slow grower little Parson Russell Terrier Audrey attends Drybrook Dog Groomers when she is in need of a handstrip. Not all wire coats are fully strippable and this little gem has a combination coat, this requires hand stripping and sc******ng to keep Audrey looking fabulous.
She is such a sweetie ❤️

Beautiful Winnie had her full groom here at Drybrook Dog Groomers today and was a superstar.
Here at Drybrook we pride ourselves in grooming correctly to coat type, which in little Winnie's case means she has a regular deshedding session and is scissored by hand into style.

🐕Information for existing customers

With it looking like an improvement in weather 🤞 we are super busy at the salons,both Drybrook Dog Groomers and Hudsons. With extremely limited sessions remaining for full grooms.
With this in mind we politely remind our regular clients to please let us know with atleast 48 hrs notice if you require to reschedule your pets grooming session. This will allow us to offer that appointment to a customer waiting.
Please bear in mind if you need to reschedule that there is currently quite a wait for open sessions through the spring. We would advise at this time that you attend your booked session where possible due to the high demand and limited spaces.
In addition please let us know if you have a secured holiday in place so we might arrange your pets groom around those dates without going off schedule.

🐕 Information for new customers

Due to high demand we are currently running a cancellation list in the event of a session becoming immediately available for full grooms. If you would like to be added to this list please let us know a good contact number to reach you as we wouldn't want anyone to miss out.

Nail sessions, gland expression sessions remain available.

Join us for the amazing Angels Bark in the Park. May 19th.
A fantastic day out for all the family at the speech house hotel and grounds.
All proceeds go directly to Forest of Dean Dog Rescue , our local rescue organisation here in the forest of Dean.

Housekeeping notice/information for customers.

Yesterday at our sister salon Hudson's my colleague was unfortunate to suffer a particularly nasty dog bite, which has injured her enough that this week's grooms at that salon have had to be suspended/rescheduled, causing not only a painful injury and an A&E visit but also a loss in earnings due to not being able to work.
As groomers we accept that some dogs may bite/show signs of aggression. This could be for a multitude of reasons and we are very experienced in reading dogs behaviour however sometimes these incidents can show no warning. Please let us know in advance if your pet might pose a bite risk no matter how small. Forewarned is forearmed.
We are then able to put precautions in place for the safety of both ourselves and the canine client in question. Biting is an accepted but unacceptable part of grooming.
Please help us keep everyone safe.

Polite notice to customers

Drybrook Dog Groomers has experienced a small level of no shows this week, which is thankfully unusual however, we wish to remind everyone of our 48 hr cancellation policy.
We would appreciate a minimum of 48 hrs notice if you require to cancel or reschedule your pets grooming session.
This will allow us to reallocate that session where possible to a customer waiting.
No shows/not turning up for pre-booked appointments means we are not only missing out on earning a wage but it means we are unable to offer other customers those sessions.
With the good weather approaching 🤞 we are already booking weeks ahead and turning away new customers due to the lack of immediate availability,which makes no shows all the more frustrating.
We value all our customers both human and canine and realise of course this is thankfully a very small minority.
Naturally life happens, stuff gets in the way occasionally and this can sometimes be unavoidable. Please speak to us if you are struggling with any aspects of attending your pets prescheduled groom and we are always happy to assist where possible.
🐕New customers. If you require a reminder via text the evening before please let us know at the time of booking and we can accommodate this request.

In other news, we have some fabulous new shampoos and scents ready for springtime, aswell as our usual mild products.
Spring complimentary bandanas are already going out ... Now we just need the weather to match 🙏

Drybrook Dog Groomers wishes to remind everyone that we are huge supporters of our local rescue, the Forest of Dean Dog Rescue and we are the Drybrook drop off point for food donations for the rescue dogs. This is delivered directly to the rescue.
Little Herbie visited us today for his first groom here at Drybrook Dog Groomers. He has been recently adopted into his forever home. Such a lucky,and deserving boy to find such a loving family ❤️

Notice to customers

Please note that the council are currently doing work on some houses in Mannings road, this means there are alot of heavy machinery vehicles lining the roads to the salon.
We remain open as usual and are unaffected by the surrounding work but are expecting the works to be continuing on and off for the next few weeks.

🐶 Pricing/quotations

Recently we are recieving more questions regarding our set pricing and service. In order to clarify please note the following information.

Here at Drybrook Dog Groomers and our sister salon Hudson's we pride ourselves in giving an excellent service.
We are equally qualified to a high standard, and dare I show our ages 😱are extremely seasoned groomers with over a decades experience each.
All products and equipment used are of exceptional quality, these have been tried and tested over the years to ensure we are satisfied with both quality and finish of your pets grooms.
We are knowledgeable in all aspects of grooming and are committed to grooming correctly to coat type, style,both breed standard and pet trimming. We equally hold canine first aid certificates and are committed to attending courses to improve our service.
All our grooms are designed to be sustainable for our human clients to manage at home, in-between grooms. The schedules we set are based upon our extensive knowledge of each breeds coat and grooming needs. We are happy to negotiate a slightly different schedule if this suits the client better but with the dogs comfort always in mind.
Through regular grooming schedules we are able to not only build a bond with your pet, but this allows us to understand your dog as an individual. Their unique personalities and quirks, what they like/don't like. Their bodies and any ailments/medical conditions that might effect their comfort during a groom,this is particularly important with our slightly older canine clientele.
By understanding your pet as an individual we are able to inform you if anything changes of notice.
All equipment is serviced regularly, scissors/blades sharpened and electrical equipment PAT tested.
All equipment and salon areas are sanitised/sterilised daily. We are extremely aware of using clean sterile equipment on each client.

Safety is always our primary concern.

Pricing/quotation.
Quotes are available by breed but please understand this is a general quotation based upon a regularly groomed pet in good coat condition. We fully understand that often life is so busy that home grooming/brushing out can be difficult and in some cases impossible.
This is normal and for those of you whom have met my own pet dog... Well? Swamp monster comes to mind🤦
With this in mind please be aware that the price you pay on the day reflects your actual pet and the services they require on the day. Quotations are used as a base rate and without seeing/touching your pet we cannot give you an accurate price until the day of the groom.

Please do not fight the price. Grooming is a specialised skill with many groomers at varied levels of this. Our price scale is based upon our own level of experience and knowledge and with our outgoings in mind. We do regularly check that our price scales are on par with other groomers with the same level of experience in order to offer you, our customers with a competitive price whilst reflecting our own level of skill as experienced stylists.
Please note that we will not price match.
We fully respect and support our groomer colleagues at all skill levels and our own pricing scale is based upon our own salons and the experience and service we offer here.

Here at our salons it is our desire to continue to provide a first class service in terms of your pets groom, their comfort whilst in our care and customer satisfaction.
In addition, if you have any special requests for your pets groom please let us know at the time of their session and we will make that happen. If you prefer your pet longer/shorter/little wig or mohawk... Anything you like to see on your pet please inform us. If no requests are made your pet will be groomed to the breed requirements.
