It’s not all about trees! Great day yesterday running the Mud Crew Red Rat 20 mile coastal run, beautiful views! A massive thank you to my wife on our first day of our family holiday having booked our time away based on this event!

We have tried something different with our young trees and inter row planted white clover. The aim of the clover is to help us grow the trees more regeneratively. The clover provides a low growing cover to reduce the impact of competition from grasses and other weeds, reducing the need to use sprays. It also provides a habitat for beneficial insects and the flowers provide for pollinators. Keeping the ground covered and not allowing bare soil will also help provide a cooler soil temperature should we ever get any summer sun! 🌞

Lots of activity within the rides around our trees. We have left these uncut later in the season over the last few years providing a habitat for lots of beneficial insects. Buzzing with butterflies and bees as well!

It’s been a very long and wet winter! Definitely looking forward lighter evenings! Although we have been quiet online we have been busy carrying out winter jobs when we can. Our 4 year old trees have now been base pruned, allowing better airflow and of course a place to place 🎁! Winter shearing all done and some severe leader pruning of a few trees that have bolted, these will take at least two years until they have formed a new leader and become beautiful full shaped trees.

Wow, we have been winding down for a couple of days and it allows us to start our Christmas traditions as a family with a little time for reflection. A massive thank you for everyone who has come and visited us this year, genuinely worth all the hard work to be a small part of a family Christmas tradition to choose your tree. I am so lucky we have a fantastic team who make it all happen, we were so busy I’m sorry we couldn’t get a team photo with everyone but a big thank you to Mrs Mince pie, Mum and Dad, Jess, George, Tom, Matt, Hawk, Inge, Glyn, Gareth, Adam, Dan and Tash! Plenty of improvements planned for next year, but for now, Merry Christmas one and all. Any late tree requests ring or message. 🎄

We have officially closed for the year but open by appointment for late cut or reserved trees right up until Christmas so drop is a message if you are still in need of a tree. We will be cutting to order now with fresh cut trees, not just leftover trees. We do have a couple of “ugly duckling” trees that we would love to find a home and be decorated to beautiful swans this Christmas. We would like to donate to family’s who are finding it hard this year or anyone you think needs some Christmas cheer. Please message us with your nominations. We are looking for nominations only to message us. Let’s spread some Christmas love ❤️

Open 9-5 today, for Sunday funday and Christmas jumpers all round! This is our last official day, we will of course be available for any last minute tree needs right up until the big day. some lovely traditional Norways spruce and blue spruce fresh cut this week.

We are open for weekend tree hunters today and tomorrow 9-5. Been cutting all this week to make sure a wide selection of fresh cut trees. Christmas barn is stocked with local May Hill honey, our own apple juice and lots of local gifts from small independent businesses. Pigs and goats are always looking forward to meeting you all. Homemade mince pies and mulled wine are ready 🥧🥧

We have replaced the beast on display. We will be cutting most days now now just to keep topped up with a wide selection of trees from 4-14ft. Open everyday 9-5 - last day is Sunday 17th.

As we begin to relax after our two busiest weekends on record, we just want to say thank you to everyone who has visited us. It has meant I have been harvesting at dawn and dusk to keep up.
Please do keep your photos coming, we genuinely love seeing them. We were joined by a young Father Christmas this weekend! Open 9-5 everyday right up until Sunday 17th. Looking forward to putting our trees up- still a debate on which ones to choose🎄❤️

This weekend we are joined by selling her amazing cup cakes in our Christmas Barn and will be here with amazing coffee and hot chocolates as you choose the perfect tree.
