Tail-wagging local walks part 2!
SWAN BARN, HASLEMERE GU27 2HJ
Swan Barn Farm, just a skip from Haslemere’s high street, offers a choice between open meadows and enchanting woodlands (or both). Kick off your walk in the fields, then take a left through the gate into the woods. There’s even a little stream for a paddle! Quick tip: bring your wellies because, trust me, it can be deceptively muddy.
SECRETTS, MILFORD GU8 5HU
Behind Secretts Farm Shop is a little slice of tranquility, perfect for a short serene stroll. It’s an on-lead only area, great if your pup prefers some space away from other dogs or for focused on-lead training. Say hello to the friendly Geese and Ducks chilling by the two lovely ponds amidst lush green fields. Plus, free parking and a paved path makes Secretts very easy access for all the family.
HASCOMBE HILL, GU8 4JA
Wandering up the woodland paths of Hascombe Hill, once an Iron Age hill fort, brings a touch of history to your dog walk. And oh, the views! They showcase Surrey’s amazing landscape.
Head to The White Horse using this postcode, a dog-friendly pub where you can kick off or wrap up your adventure with a refreshing drink! Alternatively, opt for the Old Rectory car park a little further down the road for easy access into the woods.
PUTTENHAM COMMON, GU3 1BG
Puttenham Common is an awesome spot for a family dog walk! You’ll find well-kept paths winding through forests, heathland, and open grassy areas, surrounded by all sorts of plants and plenty of wildlife. There’s even a doggy pond at one end of the common for those who love the water! Parking is totally free in the multiple car parks. Head to the Top Car Park using this postcode.
Some of my favourite local tail-wagging adventures to enjoy! Discover the beauty of Witley & Milford Commons, unleash boundless energy at Eashing Fields, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Hankley Common, and enjoy the tranquility of Thursley Common.
