Jenny’s jumping is coming along nicely now her canter is balanced and adjustable
A really lovely session with Uma today. Only her third time doing gridwork - her positive and easy going attitude makes it all so easy.
Uma has had a quiet couple of weeks after a busy March out at training shows. She’s now getting ready to start some affiliated shows with the aim of collecting all her second round qualifications for next year

This is why I love training shows for the young horses. Although Uma jumped a lovely clear today in the 90 she had a green moment when her tongue went over the bit heading towards the blue and white double and instead of having the pressure to continue into the combination (as I do when jumping affiliated) I was able to circle before the fence and represent so that her experience jumping the combination was a positive one. Uma is definitely a horse that lacks confidence at the moment so it’s vital to keep her happy and confident whilst gaining valuable ring experience.
Thank you Caz Light for another great training show!

Mila jumping a lovely clear in the 1.10m
A fun gridwork session for Uma today. As she turns 5 this year I’m starting to ask more from her. She has all the scope in the world so it’s more about confidence for her than height but is sometimes nice to put the jumps up and feel her scope! A couple more training sessions for her before she’ll be ready to start her 2022 competition season
First show of the year for Meg and Mila completed ✅
4th place for Meg in the 1.00m arena eventing class at Pyecombe Horse Shows today.
7th place for Mila today in her first time jumping the 1.00m arena eventing class at Pyecombe Horse Shows. An unfortunate pole down but very pleased with how she jumped
7th place for Meg in the Newcomers

A very long day at South of England Showground with Meg and Mila yesterday!
Mila jumped clear cross country to maintain her spotless xc record. Unfortunately, due to ground conditions in the showjumping Mila struggled a bit, showing her inexperience jumping on grass to have a couple of poles but otherwise extremely happy with how she finished today
Meg had a bit of a disastrous day, a hot dressage test resulted in a 41 dressage and then two poles in the showjumping. She was brilliant cross country but unfortunately I completely messed up my line at the first combination and she ran past the fence resulting in 20 penalties - I’m kicking myself over that as without those penalties she would have finished in the top 10
The plan is to do Bovington with Mila and Bicton with Meg in October to wrap up our season but will all be weather dependent as we approach winter!
Last but not least, Mila had her first trip to the gallops today for some gentle canter work. My plan is to really focus on getting her to open up her stride over the next month so she learns to eat up the ground in preparation for her first Novice
