working with a sensitive horse
Working with animals everyday, some days become challenging with health conditions and contact.
This is why I have made an ointment hand πͺ made with a disposable glove, stuffed with hay and taped onto my stick
Many animals get skin conditions especially at this time of year season change.
Some skin gets so sore and cracked applying creams, oils everyday can become irritating for the animals.
Then behaviour issues kicks in, it only takes one kick and for us to move to then let the animals know "oh ok that's how I survive this then" π€ then becomes an unpleasant stressful time for the owners π«£
So my extension of my arm and oil hand goes onto my stick, pressure and release and all positive.
The horse remains calm and the oils get applied and then when the skin settles or conditions the animal becomes less stressed, the more hand contact.
Safety comes first π₯°

training dogs with body language
Working dogs with body language π₯°
Why?
My daily work load becomes busy and I never know what's happening next, working out side in Nature I can come across wildlife.
I want my dogs to remain calm and work with me around Deer, foxes and birds.
I've heard so many cases where the dogs been off lead a deer has come by, the owner goes into pannick, screams, shouts the dogs name which startles the Deer and then before you know It, the dogs gone and in some case the Deer is injured π«£π
Keep dogs on leads if they are unpredictable around Nature.
I train mine this way as I can't always have them on leads around live stock.
This body language, the rise of voice and body language tells the dog he's doing good even though they aren't, purely because the owners energy level has gone up and in fight mode, the dog then copies with Deer.
Also Horses and Cows, so many dangerous situations arise working with animals, I need to be able to communicate with my dogs from a few paddocks away.
Bringing in hand & arm movements allow the dog to have contact with me, body contact πͺ this creates safety, trust and a great work team.
Having dogs with different characters and work ethics can be challenging so using my body language allows the dogs to concentrate at their level.
I also keep one dog sitting and move another dog by my body language β€οΈ
My Jack Russel is retired π₯°π I wish I had never said that word he does as he pleases with in safety he is 16 years and 4 months π₯° his bandage is to protect his paws as he has no pads to protect his feet.

Enjoy the sunshine and have a fab weekend.
Herbs are so helpful with animals β€οΈ
With vets help and Applied herbal choices together can help many skin problems.
Red Clova & Calendula π± today's top up β€οΈ
Do you ever look at a horse bump or rash and I think
"oh no it's back again" π«£
So many horses and ponies suffered of rashes, bumps and lumps, hives π€
Some cases were never solved they just went.
Others needed medication from the vets, allergy testing and so on β€οΈ
The skin is a huge Communicator, to me it can be a secondary to the problem, unbalanced gut, allergy, immune π€
I'm not a vet so I would personally call the vet for bloods to be done if ongoing.
Then bring in self selecting herbs, this allows the horse to balance themselves, help their gut, well being and let me know what's going on.
Herbs are a great way to communicate with animals, studying animal science, medicine, behaviour and natural ways has given me the privilege to communicate β€οΈ
Follow my page to find out what this guy selected from his herbs X he was so precise and processed amazing β€οΈ

long lining pony games
Long lining horse games π΄
Long lining can be a challenge itself π«£
But bringing it in with stubborn ponies is great, builds confidence, respect and exercise πͺ
This guy has become stubborn and his way only, with a strop and brake dance he can get out of it.
Everything has been checked, he just knows all the tricks especially if you take your attention away from him he sees an opening and he's gone π«£
Not safe for children, if I was light enough I would love it π«£
So long lining with games is bringing in team work, allowing him to say "ok" we will try it and also the bendy poles are great for a short concentration.
To work together and for him to have fun adventures he needs to listen. π€
I need to ask, then do it before he thinks about it π€π then he can feel the positive energy of something he would he would normally argue with π«£
The Bendy poles, I ask, we walk, we've done it, he thinks πͺ
Golden rule never rush β€οΈ

Mud on a track system
Mud is like Marmite you either love it or hate it π€£π«£
I'm so grateful for my washing machine πͺ
πHow long can your dog sit for?π
πͺ Do distractions with sounds and movements, make them forget to stay sitting?
πDo you have to repeat yourself saying sit to keep them sitting?
π Sitting is so much harder to do than move, it's the opposite of what their bodies & minds do.
I bring in sitting with everything, such a great skill.
Ever wondered how your dog/dogs would react if they thought you forgot them π₯²
Changed the morning routine, normally I harness them up and leads, sit and walk out.
Well I shut the door π«£
My Jack Russel was so confused π₯²β€οΈ
I feel bad, but this is something I will work on with him. He needs to understand routine changes, well he is 16 and in retirement π€£ but he needs to know it's ok.
