I (Chloe/Top of the Pups) will be away on my holibobs from September 9th to the 16th - as much as I love all my furry friends I need a break (as we all do!) and will be getting some much needed rest and relaxation (hopefully 👀), so will be incommunicado! As always another late introduction to.... *drumroll* Lyra! The nutty Huskey with the stomach of a labrador! 🦮😂 I have been walking her (or have been getting walked by her) for a few months now - here she is looking suspiciously chill 🤔 surprisingly she has sat still long enough to have her photo taken on a handful of occasions now 😮 (as long as treats are involved 🤫) that being said she has been doing really well with getting better at her walking and listening 👏🏻 good job gal x

⭐A-Z of pet poisoning - Z⭐

Zinc is a very common metal present in certain coins (see image), some household metal objects, medications and supplements but is also an essential element involved in many processes within our and our pet’s bodies.

Acute ingestions of zinc supplements or creams typically only causes mild gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting and diarrhoea which occasionally may require veterinary supportive care.

More serious zinc toxicity comes from foreign body ingestion from objects such as coins, nuts/bolts and various household items that have a zinc coating.

Signs of zinc toxicity can take hours or days initially presenting as vomiting and diarrhoea which may contain blood, pets can be off their food, have abnormally smelly breath and be lethargic. More serious toxicities can cause gastrointestinal, cardiac, kidney, liver, pancreatic and haematological damage.

After having met a while back, I finally got to have Hubble come to stay for the night a couple of weekends ago! 😁❤️ He definitely had some opinions on when his bedtime should be, but he gave in and dozed off eventually 😴 😅

URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED!

Posting on behalf of a group of people hoping to save this young boy and South Croydon Animal Rescue

PLEASE NETWORK FAR AND WIDE.

Located in South Croydon.

This is Simba. We need a home or foster home for him by tomorrow evening. He is 10 months old, vaccinated and chipped but not yet neutered. Has been shunted around various members of a family who didn't know what owning a big dog entailed. Simba is said to be a German Shepherd/Tibetan Mastiff cross. I have my doubts as he is too small. He is very placid. He interacted well with other people including children and other dogs. Not known if he's cat reactive. Current owner reported some issues with barking at night and chewing things (common for puppies!) They are literally trying to hand him to every person who takes any interest in him and they have said they won't keep him beyond tomorrow evening.
