4 teams braved the chilly weather to work on their individual goals 💖

Everyone worked their paws off negotiating all the distractions, the crashing waves, and the wind picking up.

We started the new year with a bang with a cheeky little urban session in Hull 😁

It was seriously hard out there with blown scent and the 🌬️ changing direction at every junction 😲

The dogs were amazing to watch and see how they all processed it differently and figured things out 💯

Town was quiet so we made good use of it 😁

As 2024 draws to a close I thought I'd summarise what we've achieved this year 😁

We started with a bang attending a Mantrailing Spaniels day back in January and moved on from there 😁

Attended a Wesley Visscher seminar, OMG he is awesome 💯

More full days of trailing and a SIFD tracking workshop with Kathryn Jones of Trailing K9s throughout the year 😁

Urban Mantrailing Spaniels day in Oswestry

Big Borders Mantrailer collaboration with oo Kathryn again 🤣 and Kevin Motion,KMK9

Canine cognition with Endeavour K9

Became a UKSS Instructor and Assessor.

Became a MTG Assessor

Attended a 2 day Wesley Visscher Track to Trail workshop with the big man himself and Elliot Connor.

Did 15 DAYS of scent detection with the College of Scent Dogs gaining our C&G scent detection handler and instructor certification.

Did 15 DAYS of Mantrailing with the College of Scent Dogs and becoming one of the first C&G Trailing certified instructors in the UK

Did scent detection workshop with Wesley and Otis, had to cancel our place with Jens Frank due to Henry's health 😢

Attended several scent detection trials with Otis

Watched hours of webinars and videos of Mantrailing

Read lots of papers, books etc about scent things

Started yet another dog mantrailing but tracking first and then using the C&G method 😍

Henry broke himself back in August which meant we had to cancel some things 😢Otis made it to 2 against all the odds😄 and Saffy joined us as a long term foster for me to work🙂.

All in all it's been a very busy year and I'm sure I've missed stuff out 🤣 it's also been a very expensive one!

Plans for 2025 - well continue to do what I love of course 😂 - teaching you lovely lot out there, hopefully gain some new ones too and actually spend a bit more time training my own dogs and just having some fun with them and visit friends made along the way ☺️

Already plans are afoot for some Kathryn workshops, Kevin and Wesley too, UKSS level 2&3 and I'd really like to get down to see Gerry Moss from JayK9 this year but only time, Saffy's abilities (and seasons) and of course money will tell 🤣

We had our last mantrailing session of 2024 in the sun on Sunday 😁

Awesome morning of trailing working on some splits and decoys 😊 and of course the pesky peacocks and squirrels made appearances on lots of trails just to distract the dogs 🤣🤣

Well done guys 💯

Yesterday we had our last mantrailing session before Christmas so Christmas themed scent articles and dressing up time 😍

Everyone looked amazing but Peggy and her mum won the best dressed team prize from The Lickin Bowl Hull for their matching outfits 💖

The wind was ridiculous but not as bad as later on and Howden was busy 😂

The dogs were all amazing working lots of junctions and road crossings through all the distractions and blown scent 💯

Thursday morning was a chilly little urban session in Burstwick.🥶

First urban for a couple of the dogs and they were awesome 💯

Lots of distractions to contend with, traffic and of course the wind blowing scent everywhere. The dogs all made great decisions 😁
The low winter 🌞 made taking photos difficult 🤣

And we made good use of the church yard for some gate indications to finish 😁

We had a great morning yesterday at one of our favourite venues 😁

5 teams working on split trails and decoys in the ☀️ for a change!

Lots of surface and wind direction changes making it nice and challenging for the dogs 💖

We had people, cars, lots of squirrels and of course the peacocks to distract us 😍

This handsome boy is a guide dog in training 💖

He's allowed to do some scent games for fun and started his mantrailing journey this morning 😍

He's a confident, big strong lad so he's learnt the C&G way - nice and steady and using his nose and his brain to figure things out from the word go!

What a natural he is 💯💖

We beat storm Darragh this morning - just 😍

It was literally the calm before the storm not even any rain really and then our last half hour was horrendous 😂 thankfully we ran our last 3 trails under cover in the carpark 😍

The dogs were awesome working through the increasingly blowy conditions where the wind changed direction at every corner 💖

Well done guys 💯 hope you all got home safely before it really kicked off ☺️
