Yesterday we had our last mantrailing session before Christmas so Christmas themed scent articles and dressing up time 😍

Everyone looked amazing but Peggy and her mum won the best dressed team prize from The Lickin Bowl Hull for their matching outfits 💖

The wind was ridiculous but not as bad as later on and Howden was busy 😂

The dogs were all amazing working lots of junctions and road crossings through all the distractions and blown scent 💯

The wind has not been our friend this weekend 😔 despite that the dogs have worked really hard to hunt down their people 😁

Yesterday morning in a new rural environment with lots of deer and squirrels, saw 4 teams plus Saffy working out the blown scent picture and getting a little wet 😂

Very proud of everyone but especially little Saffy, who has taken over the mantrailing role from Henry, she's inexperienced but coming along beautifully, really using her ground scent to help her and bravely approaching her person in different positions and offering her sit indication too💖

Thursday morning was a chilly little urban session in Burstwick.🥶

First urban for a couple of the dogs and they were awesome 💯

Lots of distractions to contend with, traffic and of course the wind blowing scent everywhere. The dogs all made great decisions 😁
The low winter 🌞 made taking photos difficult 🤣

And we made good use of the church yard for some gate indications to finish 😁

Sunday mornings mantrailers came out to play early 😁

All had different things to work on and all had great fun 😊

We had a great morning yesterday at one of our favourite venues 😁

5 teams working on split trails and decoys in the ☀️ for a change!

Lots of surface and wind direction changes making it nice and challenging for the dogs 💖

We had people, cars, lots of squirrels and of course the peacocks to distract us 😍

This handsome boy is a guide dog in training 💖

He's allowed to do some scent games for fun and started his mantrailing journey this morning 😍

He's a confident, big strong lad so he's learnt the C&G way - nice and steady and using his nose and his brain to figure things out from the word go!

What a natural he is 💯💖

We beat storm Darragh this morning - just 😍

It was literally the calm before the storm not even any rain really and then our last half hour was horrendous 😂 thankfully we ran our last 3 trails under cover in the carpark 😍

The dogs were awesome working through the increasingly blowy conditions where the wind changed direction at every corner 💖

Well done guys 💯 hope you all got home safely before it really kicked off ☺️

We had some huge wins on Sunday with our mantrailers😁

A dog that hates rain and wet grass happily hunting down their person in said conditions 😍

A dog that is too anxious to previously take food , took food from the floor but also the hand and the pot 💖 and did his best trails yet💯

A usually fast and strong dog did a beautiful steady and thoughtful trail, using both ground and air scent 😍

Loopy, speedy puppy finally slowing down, apart from his 'found you' wiggle bum 😂😍

And just someone getting his mojo back and having the best time 💖

Thursday was a frosty morning for mantrailing in Hessle 😁

4 teams working really hard across pockets of changing ground temperatures, across open ground and in and out of the woods 💖

Lots of distractions and someone may have hurt herself earlier in the day so asked me to trail the lovely Bruno😁 never say no so I trailed my first bulldog/staffie cross and he was awesome, maybe I should take a break from spaniels 🤣🤣

We've been to my happy place today - IABTC in Haxey, for some life skills training💖

This is where my dog training journey began with the awesome Lester, where I did my dog training qualifications and where my scent work and mantrailing obsession began 😍

Whilst I can and do train my dogs at home what I cannot do is work around other dogs and people all doing stuff at the same time.

There is a serious lack of good quality, positive training in our area and the bit there is - well it's either a weekend when I'm mantrailing or an evening when I'm teaching scent work 😢

We've had fun, caught up with old friends and most importantly trained my own dogs 😂

You should really check this place out they have lots of things going on 😁
