Henry has been a little superstar this week π
When you have a spaniel expect to get dragged through a bush π
Yesterday wasn't as good a day or was it??
It's day 4 of an intense week, we worked outside in the shed Henry drags me to investigate every morning, he was tired, I was tired and his back hurt!
Against all those odds and distractions, the wind etc he searched for odour something he couldn't do on Monday π
I didn't have my jump up and down screaming moment but he was awesome π
He had a moment when he came off his search , thought about it instead of barking and got right back on itπ₯° awesome dude, and I only appreciated it when watching the video back later!
And by the end of day 3 I have another search dog π
For a bit of history Henry is a rescue who was trialed but wouldn't work for the prison service. He has shown no interest at all since being with me from July last year, and we have tried π³
He came to college as a beginner dog but I have done a lot of different scent work with my previous spaniels who were all natural scent dogs π
He gets very easily aroused so I have to keep really low energy with my praise, body language etc, and I've recently started to retrain him on a clicker as he was confused by my different verbalisation π₯°
I think you can see and hear just how happy and proud of him I am π€£
Love this boy π
So day 3 and Henry is doing his first proper long search it's not pretty he's fast so my handling is sh*te and he hasn't learnt his corners yet but look at this π
Tuesday morning mantrailing in Doncaster
Poor Shelby started her trail in the snow βοΈ
Making memories with Otis, 13 months old, nearly blind, and severe bilateral hip dysplasia, deformed pelvis and severe osteoarthritis in his spine π
Nothing they can do π
We've been a tad busy Doncaster til late last night and Withernsea today π
10 minutes on the beach for the boys and massages this afternoon π
I'm off trailing Henry tomorrow and we'll be on the road before 6π«£ probably not home til 9
So what I'm saying is pictures might be a bit late but I'll be editing them throughout the day tomorrow and hopefully get them posted π
A little something to keep you entertained π............
