Riding lessons are available for all levels of rider, from 3 years old upwards, first timers to advanced competitors, all are welcome! BHS Stage 1 horse care course starting next week - Saturday 25th January 11.30 - 1pm every Saturday for 6 weeks.

A course for adults who are looking to start on the BHS education pathway, and learn more about horse care. Or for prospective horse owners looking to update their knowledge.
Topics include:
- Mucking out
- Grooming
- Rugs
- Feeding
- Tack
- Horse health
- Horse behaviour
- Field requirements

New children's group lesson availability for a variety of ages.

Group lessons are 30mins and either a group of 3 riders (£26) or a group of 4 riders (£23). All lessons are taught by a qualified, experienced instructor.

Lessons are either weekly (w), or fortnightly (f).

Polite reminder - Cancellation policy.

As you all know, we have a 48hr cancellation policy for all late cancellations. If less than 48hrs notice is given, the full lesson is payable (for all cancellations).
This is explained in our welcome pack, on our website, and it is also displayed at multiple points on the yard.
We understand things happen beyond your control, however, at this late notice, we likely cannot fill this slot (and in the case of group lessons cant even offer it out).

Our costs are incredibly high to run a lesson, staff need to be paid whether you attend or not, and horses cost a huge amount every day. Their ongoing care, feed, hay, worming, farriery, vets, physios, saddle fitters, etc, (all of which are important part of their welfare) is all very expensive, and going up in price frequently. We are highly commended for our welfare standards, and it is something that cannot be compromised, as our horses are valued members of our team.

While we understand these things happen, for us it is not just the one off, we receive multiple last minute cancellations every single day, and we must stick to our cancellation policy rules. These are explained and are part of our terms and conditions.

Just a reminder - our BHS Stage 2 horse care course starts tomorrow (Friday 17th Jan).
We still have spaces if you are looking to update your horse care knowledge or take part in the BHS education system.

These courses are designed to cover the BHS horse care syllabus found at:

There is no obligation to take any BHS exams after taking the course, so it can be suitable for adults who would like to update their current horse care knowledge.

Sunday horse riding!
We are expanding our lesson availability on Sundays with Katie (and Janice). Katie is a BHS qualified instructor and enjoys teaching riders of all ages and abilities. We will also have limited availability with our head instructor Janice BHS Stage 4 Senior Instructor on some Sundays.

Katie teaches every other Sunday regularly, however we have now added an additional Sunday once a month to the schedule. This would be ideal for those riders who do not want to commit to a fortnightly schedule, and want a more "ad hoc" riding experience to suit your own schedule. Or for those wanting to book an additional lesson in between.

Private lessons are £39/30mins or if you want to ride with a friend, it is £30 per person/30min semi private.

Andrew has been working hard on the arena all week, and we have risk assessed this morning and decided we will be running lessons today as normal.

There may be some adaptations to lessons as and when required (e.g. canter) as the weather changes throughout the day.

There is also the option of Hector - the mechanical horse if you have a private lesson and would like to ride inside (where available).

We would like to take a moment to wish all of our customers, friends and families a very Happy New Year! Thank you for all your support in 2024, it means the world to us, and we look forward to welcoming you from the 2nd January 2025!

That's a wrap everyone, we are now closed for Christmas. We will be open on Saturday 28th for lessons, so messages will be picked up then. Merry Christmas to all our customers, and their families, we hope you all have a wonderful day!

We are closed today, so all the horses are enjoying an extra day off in addition to their usual two days off every week. They spend their time off enjoying time in the field, grazing, sunbathing and socialising with the other horses, all of which is important for their mental and physical wellbeing. As you can see William is taking full advantage of his day off and has chosen to have breakfast in bed!

Everyone is getting ready for tomorrows summer show, and its looking like the sun might make an appearance too, fingers crossed!! Our Saturday staff have decided to practice for tomorrows mini show jumping ahead of time, although there seems to be some cheating!! See you all tomorrow. 😁
