Due to team expansion and internal job change, we are looking for a new receptionist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual, who likes to be kept busy!

As the professional first point of contact between our clients and on-farm teams (13 vets, 4 vet techs and 1 TB tester) you must:
โข Be committed to delivering excellent customer service.
โข Be an effective and confident communicator.
โข Have strong administrative skills.
โข Have the drive to join an energetic farm team.
โข Be able to meet and greet farm clients and build relationships.
โข Have an interest in farming.
๐ The position is full time Monday - Friday, with the potential to be on the Saturday rota. Working hours can be discussed at interview, but will be between office hours, Mon - Fri 8am-6.30pm and Sat 8.30am-1pm.

โ๏ธPhotosensitisation - a painful condition occurring when cattle become sensitive to UV light as a result of chemical/photodynamic agents in the blood โ๏ธ
๐ This heifer was 1st seen on farm by Rebecca and seemed restless and agitated. Supportive treatment was given and she seemed to settle down. After a few weeks she presented with reddening & sloughing of the skin on her white areas.
๐ฑ Photosensitisation can either be a primary condition where photodynamic agents in plants including St John's Wort and Giant Hogweed are ingested. They then react with UV light causing damage to the skin cells.
Or a secondary condition in which liver damage prevents the removal of photodynamic agents released as part of digestion of plants.
๐ Treatment involves supportive care, pain relief, housing out of sunlight and skin moisturisation
โฐ Recovery depends on the underlying cause; if and how badly the liver is damaged. Many animals can recover well over time but scarring as a result of the skin damage may persist
