From Monday 27 January, there will be engineering work on the Gosport Ferry pontoon, which should be finished by Wednesday 5 February.

Passengers using the ferry terminal will still be able to access it as normal.

The work is being carried out to the underside of the pontoon, which may cause a bit of noise, but measures are in place to reduce any disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience.

DRIVING DO’S AND DON’TS – a driver made a bit of a bo bo this evening so perhaps it is a good time to run through a couple of do’s and don’ts for driving around Gosport…

DO – make sure you have the required insurance to drive the car you are in
DO – make sure the car you are driving has a current MOT

DON’T – drive the wrong way down a ONE WAY road towards a police vehicle
DON’T – already have enough points that the above infractions will cost you your licence

If you haven’t worked it out already, one of our team was driving back to the station when the car in question was heading towards them, the wrong way down Thorngate Way. The driver was spoken to, some checks were made and before you know it they were walking home (having been reported for the traffic offences) and a recovery van was called for. 👍🏼

Storm Éowyn. With strong winds forecast over the coming days we are not expecting any disruption to our levels of service. Just listen to instructions from our ferry crew and take a bit more care when you enter and exit the boat, but our staff will be on hand to help.

CHAT2US search for Coffee morning co-ordinator

It is with sad regret that Jeanette has offered her notice to stop running the Social Chats, and if no-ne can be found then the group will close with both Leslie and Su saying they will resign also.

At present there is an appeal out to give Jeanette the much needed help while she takes time out to concentrate on her health,. However, she has said she will stay until June 6th making it 10 years of running the Support Group and 9 years for the Socials. More information can be read on our letter to members.

A man has been jailed following a terrifying campaign of stalking in Fareham.

James Renfree, 45, sent hundreds of threatening emails to a woman, and turned up at her house threatening to shoot her partner.

Earlier today, PCSO 18795 Ollie Bull assisted in safely rescuing this sweet but disoriented feline who was found wandering in the road. The cat appeared a bit unwell and was in potential danger, but thanks to quick action, they're now safe and receiving care. 🐱💙

If you have a garden waste bin from Gosport Borough Council, or want to have one, you have till the end of January to get it at the "Early Bird" price which, this year, is £60 (£70 from 1st February). Collections will start the first week of March to the last week of November and your collection dates will be confirmed nearer the start date.
