Be Tick Aware
With summer approaching it is a good idea to be prepared with your antiparacitic toolkit.
Why do we spay cats so young?
π± Female cats can reach sexual maturity (puberty) from the age of 12-16 weeks so even though they are still kittens themselves, they can still get pregnant
π± They can have up to 3 litters of kittens a year and many of these are unable to find lifelong homes due to overpopulation
π± They are less likely to to contract diseases such as FIV and FeLV which are spread by bites and mating behaviour
π± The risk of developing uterine and ovarian cancer is removed
π± If they live with their brother, although they are related they will still mate after hitting puberty
We can spay cats from around 5 months of age and are at least 2kg in weight but we often make exceptions so please enquire. We also offer neutering checks where you can discuss this further so please get in touch

Stray cat needing a home!
Hello everyone! Nobody came forward for me so I need a new loving home please! I am very friendly and love nothing more than a snuggly bed and a cuddle! I am around 1 year old so have lots of love to give. If you are interested in rehoming me please ring my friends at Avenue Vets on 01476 563371. I do not want to get lost again so if you would like to own me please get me microchipped and neutered!
