A little before and after! Of today shoeing this cool dude George a big Clyesdale! The owner decided to put a pair of fronts on him as she is doing more road work with him! Satisfying way to end the bank holiday weekend! 🇬🇧🐴⚒️

🐴Something a bit different…🐴

A horse on my round suffered from a severe abscess that unfortunately tracked under the sole leaving him real sore. So to get him on the road to recovery I have shod him with a 3/4 fullered shoe that provides adequate support and length. The plate is made up to go over the top of the shoe. 3 holes have been drilled and tapped for placement of small bolts, this is designed for the customer to remove the plate from the shoe to clean the affected area, I used impression material on the medial side of the sole and iodine on the lateral side of the sole to harden the sole and help new growth, the impression material is used to help him weight bare on the medial side to relieve pressure from the lateral side.

Barefoot thoroughbred, first pair of shoes! Commonly know for being flat footed, they are prone to become foot sore! The shoes help elevate the hoof from the ground to protect their thin soles 🐴⚒️

A horse had lost its shoe, and pulled a lot of foot with it! 😬

So I used glue to patch up an fill in the missing foot, the glue used is strong and durable which acts as the hoof wall! To help maintain the strength.

When hardened I was able to nail into it! 🔨
