If you are going away for a weekend break or a long holiday, let Claire look after your beloved pet. Rabbit's Retreat is a specially designed hotel for Rabbits, Guinea pigs and other small furry pets. Award winning rabbit owner, not a breeder. Rabbit's Retreat has 3 medium hutches which are 4f
t by 2 ft and 2 luxury 6ft by 2ft hutches. The hutches were specially hand made and designed just for Rabbit's Retreat! A house bunny play area for bunnies who live indoors and not in a hutch or cage! The house bunny area includes a complimentary hay ring each week. Rabbit's Retreat is designed with your pet in mind! I keep my boarding small and exclusive so I can give your rabbit, guinea pig or other small pet my full attention and care. When you go away on a relaxing holiday you want to know that your pet will be safe and having a good time too! Price includes daily feeding, grooming and love, plus clean and spacious facilities/enclosures for the duration of their visit. Please note:
- We require a copy of the vaccination certificates for VHD and Myxomatosis, also evidence of 6-month/yearly booster. It is advised that you use a worming treatment for your rabbit annually to prevent an internal parasite infestation.
- If any pet shows signs of disease or illness we reserve the right to refuse your pet for boarding.
- Whilst your rabbit is boarding with us please provide us with their usual dry food. Please bring with you enough food for their stay and treats and toys if you have any. Changes in diet can upset your bunnys tummy, this is why I ask you to bring food.
- Should your pet become ill whilst boarding with us, we will contact you immediately and with your consent, we will take them to our local vet (any vet charges will be payable upon collection).
- All pets are left entirely at the owner’s risk. You will be required to complete a booking form upon arrival to state you are happy to leave your rabbit in my care. This also helps me gather information so I can give your pet the 5* treatment he or she deserves. Accommodation:
Hutch, run, bedding, fresh vegetables and fruit, water bottle and bowl will be supplied plus any thing extra your pet may require! In line with RSPCA guidelines no guest may share runs or are mixed during their stay unless they are boarding together. Any animals who live together will not be seperated, I understand how important it is to keep companion animals together. They will stay in the same hutch/cage together. They will also play in the same run together during the day. Hutches are in a modern converted brick garage specially designed for indoor and outdoor rabbits and guinea pigs. The Retreat is extremely secure and is locked up at night from any kind of predators, so there is no need to worry about your pets safety! Exercise:
I have a safe and secure garden and have 5 secure runs with roofs which your bunny will use during the daytime providing the weather is good. I am also at home all day, so I watch any guests playing outside from the comfort of my living room and conservatory. If I leave my house, pets outside go back to bed. If the weather is bad Rabbit's Retreat has an indoor enclosure for your rabbit to play in safely, fully equipt with toys to keep them from getting bored! Health & Hygiene:
All hutches & runs are spot cleaned daily & disinfected between guests. You are welcome to visit the Retreat prior to boarding your pet. 🌷It has been a year since I last posted on here. I have sad and happy news.
😭 I had my 13 year old Dutch bunny Beau put to sleep a few months ago. He was so ready to go to heaven so we helped him along the way. I miss him dearly but he had no quality of life and it just wasn’t kind to keep him alive.
🐝 Bumble & Bee are doing just fine and they are definitely the fastest rabbits in the land, boy they can run so fast and do some AMAZING binkies in the garden! Happy healthy boys!
🌸 And we have a very special new announcement too! Everyone meet our new girl Blossom, she is a 12 week old Continental giant and is our new house bunny! We had to collect her 2 days early as she got into a scrap with her litter bunnies and she has a chunk missing from her ear. She’s ok though and has settled really well. Very friendly and inquisitive girl this one and has already been doing happy head shakes, happy flops and binkies!
👧🏼 And next month my daughter will be 6 years old! Time flies when you are having fun!

❤️ Hello bunny lovers! I have some exciting news. We have welcomed 2 new dutch bunnies to our family!
🐝 We have named then Bumble (the larger one) and Bee (the baby).
😭 Sadly they are 2 bunnies out of 16 that were found dumped down a country lane in a B&M bag in Gravesend. Thankfully my friend Rosie and her family managed to catch them all and took them home to safety!
🙂 The other 14 are now with the RSPCA and are most likely looking for homes too.
👴🏼 My old boy Beau is also still going strong but has slowed down a lot, he is 13 years old bless him!

Bespoke made to order 6ft by 2 ft, Double Hutch. Separate housing. Needs a repaint and some new lino flooring inside. The bottom door has been nibbled but are lovely large bright airy. £55.
Triple Hutch ideal for guinea pigs of 1 small bunny in each hutch. 3ft by 2ft and ariund 5ft high. Same condition, needs some TLC, also made to order. £55.
Both hutches together £100.
Garden runs 6ft by 3ft encloses. Do have the stakes missing but are held together strongly with cable ties. £20 each.

🐰 It’s time to say goodbye to Rabbit’s Retreat after nearly 8 years of boarding bunnies and meeting such lovely people with Claire's Pole Fitness, Wish Upon A Pony 2 horses and a toddler I am struggling to keep on top of everything. Something had to give and unfortunately it’s the Retreat.
😊 I would just like to thank everyone who boarded their beloved bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, tortoises and chinchillas with me over the years. I really enjoyed it when I had the time. I just feel I can’t give the 5* service I used to be able to so easily. After lots of thought (and I really mean lots) I have decided to close.
👌🏼 If you are still booked in please double confirm with me as I think I have a few bunnies over the next few weeks. Then after that all hutches and runs will be up for sale.

🌈 Most of you know the story about Chance being rescued by me 3 years ago. For those who haven’t seen, I had to put my big girl to sleep on Saturday.
😢 It was the right thing to do as the vet found a large mass the size of a hand in her lower abdomen and they couldn’t be sure what organs it has stuck to or if she would survive surgery. I had let her go, it was the kindest thing to do.
🐰 She was such a lovely girl, never once bit me and loved a cuddle. Beau her husbun will miss her and of course my heart is hurting. Unfortunately this is life all living things have to eventually go. But at least I can say I gave her the absolute best life since rescuing her and she gave me happy memories in return.
💔 Also if anyone remembers the little white bunny Alice who was with me a lot, her owner also told me last week she has gone to heaven too. Very sad, so sorry Phil.
😔 RIP Chance & Alice you will both be dearly missed.

Reposted as the temperatures are rising again, making conditions right for flies and fly strike again. Incidences will hopefully decrease as we go through Sept.
Please check your rabbits x 2 daily, as it can happen quickly. Fly eggs look like grains of rice laid in clusters, often round the tail area. If the eggs have hatched, the maggots will be burrowing into the skin and you will see open sores. It is agonising for your pet, and if left, will result in death. If you are unsure, call your vet asap for advice. If looking for something to help prevent flystrike here's a link:

"a topical treatment can be applied to the rabbit to help prevent fly strike. F10 wound spray with insecticide and Rearguard are examples of these topical treatments. F10 wound spray needs to be applied weekly to the rump and ge***al area. It is TOXIC to cats so don’t use on cats or in households where the cats and rabbits interact.
The main ingredient in Rearguard is Cyromazine (an insect growth regulator). It is recommended by many Veterinary practices and is widely available in pet shops and online. It should be applied at the start of summer before any flies are seen and gives approximately 8-10 weeks of protection. This product does not repel flies or kill maggots but works by preventing any eggs laid on the rabbit from hatching into maggots. Rearguard can also be applied on rabbits that have been successfully treated for fly strike to help prevent re-occurrence."

Rabbits are active overnight, that’s why they need permanent access to a secure exercise area 24/7. All this movement helps keep the gut & bladder functioning well and the mind happy. All enclosures need to be at least 10ft x 6ft x 3ft high as per the The Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund minimum guidelines. A hutch really is not enough!
