Discover 292 acres of breath-taking beauty, with something for everyone at our flagship park. Step from shadow-pooled glades where ponds teem with life to coppice woodland bursting with wild flowers i

n spring. beyond is ancient broad leaved woodland with towering veteran trees. At the heart stands our award-winning eco visitor centre. Park includes; play area, toddler play area, 8 way marked trails including easy access and horse/ mountain bike route, trim trail, café, eco pizza kitchen, dog pond, tramper hire, seasonal activities and events, medieval manor, sculptures and more.. We also offer opportunities for venue hire, children's parties, team building as well as ranger led educational school visits, including a dedicated school area with outdoor shelter. More information can be found by visiting our website. Wood products including logs (September through to March) can be purchased from our visitor centre. Pay and Display parking (£2.30 weekdays and £3.30 weekends and bank holidays). Coach parking by prior arrangement (£7.00). Motorbikes (free). Parking season tickets are available online or call 03000 413500 Blue badge holders must register via the KCC contact centre (03000 413500) to receive their free annual season ticket (Note; the Contact Centre charges a £8 admin fee for this service)

We regret to inform you that, due to bad weather conditions, all scheduled events at the park on Saturday 7th December have been cancelled.

Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities, and we believe this decision is in everyone’s best interest.

If you have purchased tickets for any cancelled events, please email [email protected] with your booking reference to transfer your tickets to next week or arrange a refund.

Our veteran tree collection is internationally important as we have over 200 veteran and ancient trees in the park. They aren't always the tallest or widest trees and the key feature is the decaying wood which is home to some of the rarest insects in Britain. The photos below show a Hornbeam pollard that was in danger of collapse so it has had a full crown reduction carried out. The other is a lapsed oak pollard where the stool is very old but the individual stems may only be 50 years old. It is the continuity of the habitat that makes it so rare.
