✨Adoption update✨

'I thought I would drop you a note to let you know how th cats are getting on after two weeks.

We have taken it really gently but they have really started to settle. Atlas particularly has really settled well he is very affectionate and comfortable with us all, coming for strokes and sitting on our laps. He is really good with our two children who have also been very good with him and he is comfortable around them and lets them give him gentle strokes.

Ta**us and Vesper (Midnight) have been a bit slower to settle but they are now comfortable roaming around the house and have both accepted strokes from us. In the evenings they like to come and sit with us and relax in the sofa.

We haven't let them outside yet so that will be the next adventure. I have attached some pictures of them making themselves at home.'

This deeply bonded trio are beginning to lose hope of ever finding the loving home they deserve. 💔

Ivy, Jacob and Holly came to us after their previous owner abandoned them. The playful and energetic trio thrive from attention and enjoy being on the go. They do enjoy to then settle on your lap to enjoy all the fusses and cuddles you have on offer.

This inseparable trio is searching for a special home where they can be the only pets and have the freedom to explore the outdoors together, once they have settled into their new home. 🏡

How has gorgeous Lila not found her happy ending yet?

Lila was very shy after she was abandoned by her previous owner, however it did not take her long to settle in with us and form some wonderful, strong bonds with our fantastic cattery team. Lila has transformed into a cheeky, playful cat with so much love to offer someone special.

If you offer Lila a second chance, please apply here:

Help us find our longest resident his forever home!

Unfortunately Tutts found his arrival into RSPCA care rather challenging after he was abandoned by his previous owner.

Tutts is in need of a quiet house, where he can spend his days relaxing with a family who will allow him to do what he wants, when he pleases. It may take him a considerable amount of time to settle in and we know with the right adopter, Tutts will make a lovely companion for someone.

Due to his unfortunate abandonment, it can take Tutts some time to gain trust in new people. However over time and with a lot of patience, Tutts can drop his guard and transform into an affectionate boy, in need of fusses, head bumps and all the his heart desires.

To offer Tutts a lifetime of love and security, please apply here:

Update on Pepper.

'He's doing well. He’s a little shy sweetheart. But letting us give him lovely tickles. He’s eating great loving his kale food. He likes it when it’s dark he comes out to play with his toys. Think he is definitely getting used to his new surroundings and us.'

Paddy is still looking for his forever family.

Paddy found his way into RSPCA care after he was abandoned in a property. Our inspectors found another resident dog with Paddy, both locked in a crate extremely underweight and malnourished.

Regardless of having limited history for Paddy, he has been a dream to take care of and he has gained quite the fan club amongst the whole team.

Paddy could live with children of a secondary school age and potentially with another dog depending on successful meets at the centre. He is not a suitable dog to live with cats.

If you like our handsome Paddy and can offer him a forever home please submit an application form:

✨Happy Ending✨

'We hope all is well at Great Ayton. We just wanted to send an update on Jasper as it feels like it's been a while. He's just gorgeous! He is more and more settled and comfortable in our routines now and is showing his playful and very cheeky side. He has taught us all how he likes to play - he loves tuggy and is forever dropping his teddy at everyone's feet in the hope that someone takes the hint!

Jasper has had some nice walks in the cold discovering new places. Also some off lead runs and chasing balls at the paw park. Just in the last few days he has enjoyed his first garden sunspot and snooze!

Jasper is just the perfect addition to our family. He is full of love and sweetness, despite all the enormous changes and adjustments he has had. He is truly special and we're so pleased that we get to give him the home he deserves.

Thank you so much'

✨Happy Ending✨

'Cats seem to be doing well. We are giving them lots of space and they are still shy but seem to be coming out of their shells a little bit. Atlas the most, but vesper has allowed us to give her some strokes and Ta**us is a bit indifferent but seems relaxed. They have all allowed us to stroke them and Atlas has even climbed on to Simon's knee. Vesper as expected is very shy but if we reach down the side of the bed she allows us to stroke her and has responded with some head bops. They aren't really exhibiting any signs of stress other than hiding in small places, no scratching or aggression. They have been starting to explore their space more and have been eating and drinking and using the litter tray without any problems.'

This beautiful girl is Luna. Luna came into kennels when her owners were no longer able to look after her- she's spent over 250 days in kennels so far!

She was reported to have some separation issues so we're looking for someone who is home all the time so Luna's hours left alone can be built up. That being said, Luna is able to settle herself and doesn't need constant human interaction. She loves settling down with a chew, or playing with her toys- she makes excellent company whilst we work in the office spaces.

Luna being a malinois is looking for someone not only to physically exercise her, but mentally stimulate her too. She knows lots of cues- sit, paw, down, spin, drop and enjoys engaging in new training. Luna loves playing with her balls, but we're looking for someone who can exercise Luna in other ways too. We think she'd love to try out some scent work or mantrailing type activities.

Luna is looking to be an only dog in her new home. Luna can comfortably pass other dogs on walks, but is unsure during greetings so would prefer walks in quieter spaces. She can be rehomed with children 16+ depending on meets at the centre. Luna can be a little unsure meeting new people, and would prefer to engage in training and play rather than have lots of hands on contact, so she's looking for someone who can respect her choices.

Luna would make a great addition to a home who's looking for an active dog who is keen to keep learning.

To offer Luna her second chance, apply here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdOgUwrYfnhvfGAZ78PMgyVV9wOCoywImZFSOQDHYVAmVhZKg/viewform

Claudia arrived into RSPCA care after she was found by a member of public abandoned in a box.

Claudia was found with wounds all over her back and she has a cataract in her left eye.

After some TLC, Claudia's wounds are slowly healing and we are hopeful that her hair will slowly grow back over time.

Claudia is a shy, older girl looking for her retirement home where she can live out her days with a guinea pig loving owner. She will thrive in a home where her adopter is willing to help Claudia build trust and gain some confidence.

Help us find Claudia her forever home:

Clarice🐾

This little chap has a curious and intelligent character – he loves exploring his enclosure, hunting for his daily treats and burning off some energy on his exercise wheel. Clarice is a little under socialised, he will often come out of his den to investigate when he has human company, but being nocturnal, mostly enjoys naps throughout the day, to prepare him for all the activity at night. Clarice is seeking an understanding hamster loving home, where he can continue building positive associations when being handled.
