With the dogs 🐶 thinking about the weekend coming and the importance of rest ☺️😴

It is crucial to rest properly so the body can recharge and recover - coming back stronger and healthier and less prone to injury (humans and animals !! )

Acupuncture and herbs can be very helpful in managing back pain particularly in geriatric patients as movement is crucial 💜

The more a patient is happy to move the better is the circulation. This increases the blood flow to the vital organs and to muscles and skin💜

Often the appetite increases as a result and the animals are more alert, responsive and social 💜

A win win on all sides 😍

With these frosty nights 🥶and cold days the temperature is too low for the sugars to be used for growth and so the sugar will be stored in the plant 🌱

Laminitic prone horses therefore shouldn’t be turned out early morning to help reduce the exposure to sugar so turning them out once the frost has thawed

Although it is cold and they need to use more energy to keep warm so a soaked haynet might be safer ❤️🐴

❤️❤️Being the perfect pupil - we talked about...Treats! Ideally they should be as good as the food from a quality perspective. I often advise to keep some high value treats up your sleeve - not literally😉 but for difficult or demanding situations, they might just make the little difference to be able to mastering those well.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a lovely week ahead

With Firework Night first approaching it can be a stressful, worrying time for some pet owners as some pets just don’t like them 🙈

Here are some useful tips to help try and make the evening less stressful

🐶Ensure the television and radio are turned up really loud. You could plan a movie night with your dog 🐕 and cat 🐈 close the curtains and television on loudly because with you by their side it will make them feel safe

🐈Ensure cats are brought in early

🐶 If you are going to walk and feed your dog early on firework night ensure you do this at least a few days earlier so they get used to the change in routine and doesn’t add to the stress on Firework night

🐴 For horses keep their routine the same. If you are planning on stabling your horse and they are used to living out change their routine prior to the night so they get used to the change of routine and that doesn’t add to the stress

🐴 Ensure you have radio’s on. Preferably Classical music so it’s calming music and leave plenty of lights on

🐴Some horses radiate a calmness that can help nervous horses cope. So if you have some horses that don’t mind the fireworks try stabling them next to the ones who find Firework night stressful. Again do this prior to Firework Night so they are used to the change

⭐️⭐️For pets being scared of loud noises it can be a sign of anxiety

We have herbs that can help treat those underlying issues

Please email [email protected] if you would like any further information 🐴🐈🐶♥️

This Autumn 🍂 has been particularly bad for flea infestation 🙈

We have had numerous clients asking how to go about dealing with fleas

The key 🔑to a long term solution is management for a good six weeks, particularly if you do not wish to use chemicals

One needs to be …

✔️Very organised and maintain vigorous cleaning for a good six weeks 🧹🧽since the last flea was seen 👀

We feel Diatomaceous Earth works extremely well 🤩

Plus you need to ….

✔️Hoover at least twice daily
✔️Wash 🧼all towels and bedding on a hot wash frequently

PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IF YOU NEED MORE HELP OR IF YOUR ANIMAL DEVELOPS A FLEA ALLERGY WHICH ISN’T UNCOMMON

Lola just thinking about the annoyance of fleas 😳🐶
