How handsome is Smudge?! 🥰

Smudge came to see Marissa as he was having some trouble passing urine, which can be a medical emergency in male cats! There can be a few different causes for this, in Smudge’s case he had crystals in his urine which can be controlled through a special diet and medication! 💊

Smudge is now feeling much better and doing really well 😊😊

Meet Tully, the beautiful standard poodle 🐩🐾
Tully comes to see us regularly as she has a condition called Addisons, which is controlled with injections, and monitored with blood tests, and we are happy to report she is doing really well! 🥰

Did you know?? 🐾

It is believed that these dogs are originally from medieval Germany, and the name comes from the word ‘puddeln’ which meant ‘to splash’ 💧
They were bred for waterfowl hunting 🦆

This little diva came to visit for a check up and her flea and worming treatment

Our puppies and kittens have to be checked every month for their parasite treatment so we can check their weight and ensure they are on the correct dose as they grow
Added bonus, we get puppy cuddles every month and get to see your new pet grow!

Meet Buster, a lovely older gentleman who came for dental treatment last week 🦷

Buster had a sore area around his canine tooth so unfortunately it needed to be removed, but he is feeling much better now! He visited today for his last check-up and has been signed off 😁

🐶 BOAS & Inverted Laryngeal Saccules: A Hidden Breathing Struggle 😞💨
Does your pup struggle to breathe, snore loudly, or gag frequently? It could be Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS), and one major issue within BOAS is inverted laryngeal saccules.
🔎 What are they?
Laryngeal saccules are small tissue pouches near the vocal cords. When a dog struggles to breathe due to airway obstruction (like an elongated soft palate or narrow nostrils), these saccules get sucked into the airway, making breathing even harder.
🚨 Signs of Inverted Saccules:
❌ Heavy snoring & noisy breathing
❌ Gagging or choking
❌ Struggling after minimal exercise
❌ Fainting or collapse from lack of oxygen
🐾 What can be done?
Early intervention is key! Surgical removal of the saccules can significantly improve airflow and quality of life.

Sherlock keeping cool: level advanced 🧊😻🛀 There aren't many cats that will meow at you in an empty bathtub until you turn the tap on but Sherlock loves water. I fill the bath with about an inch of water and monitor him while he plays in the puddles/ has a very long drink. It's a great way to keep him cool in this hot weather. If your cats not a big fan of water there are lots of other ways to keep them cool. Keeping your pets cool on hot days level: beginner 🧊☀ It can be difficult keeping cats cool during the summer weather. One way I find helps is to incorporate play and spark their curiosity. Bean and Sherlock enjoy flaking out on the cool kitchen floor on hot days. To encourage them to drink more and stay hydrated I put toys or ice cubes in their water bowl. 🐢🍃 Watch this adorable Hermann's tortoise enjoy a healthy and balanced diet! 🌿🥕 This is "Squirt" a rehomed tortoise that was unfortunately handed into the practice after being attacked by a fox. Her wounds have healed and we reunited her with her owner as Squirt had a microchip inserted in her back leg. If you need your pet chipping, let us know and we can get you on the right side of the law. This is now a legal requirement for both dogs and cats.
