A huge thank you to Chewing with River for a fabulous webinar on Nutrition and behaviour.

We should all be aware that our Dogs’ gut health is directly tied to their behaviour: an imbalanced microbiome can lead to anxiety, aggression, or poor learning, while a healthy gut supports calmness, resilience, and trainability.
🐾It was great to learn more on this subject and I really encourage all pet parents and guardians to do the same. Our dogs need the right nutrition to feel at their very best and lead the longest and healthiest lives.

Lifting the curtain on the reality of being a dog pro...

We've all been there, drinks at the pub and someone asks "What do you do for work?". And we know what will come next, the assumptions, the disbelief that this could be an actual job and not just a hobby.

And we get it. It's a pretty bloody amazing job to share our days with animals. But at times it is also lonely, and sad, and scary.

In the last few weeks alone, I've had multiple inquiries stating this was their last chance before they rehomed the dog or put them to sleep. It's a pressure and responsibility that dog pros carry in their every day.

What's the most common assumption you've heard as a dog pro, or made as a person who isn't in the industry?

I feel so incredibly privileged to have reached this huge milestone. I am grateful every day for every single follower, client, and business for supporting me and entrusting me with their dog / their clients.

I've worked my arse off for the last 8 months, setting up on my own and giving Chewing my all. To be able to pay myself a wage is a moment I'll never forget.

From countless pieces of free content on social media, dozens of calls with dog guardians interested in my services, nearly 200 one to one sessions completed, and dozens of happy customers... I'm so proud of what I'm building, and I know this is only the start ❤️

I keep saying it, and I'll say it again: behaviour is communication.

And unfortunately, a lot of dogs are desperately trying to tell us that they need help. They're tired, their gut is shot, their hips are sore... Behaviour, as scary or challenging as it is for the humans to witness and live with, is a dog's attempt to communicate.

We just have to listen...
