Everybody needs a neighbour like Dave!
Whilst out repairing fences on our farm today one of our neighbours came out to give me this to have with my dinner! Cheers Dave! If there was any day that a farmer needed a drink it was today after the budget. The effect of removing inheritance tax from agricultural land could have a huge impact on small family farms like ours up and down the country. I am the eighth generation to farm this land, it has been passed down since the 1700's. My grandfather used to always say " you never own land, your just a steward looking after it until the next generation". That next generation will either have to pay out an unrealistic amount of money to carry on farming, or sell part of it to fund the inheritance tax bill, thus making an already financially challenging business even more so.
I have a lot to ponder whilst I enjoy my beer!
