Little Rolo enjoying a polework session, something the big Warmblood can’t get his head around 🤦‍♀️. However clearly the exertion of getting over the cavaletti required a nutrition stop halfway through 🤣💙

Little Rolo enjoying a morning walk around the stubble.

Rolo arrived with us on Saturday from EHPPS having been left on a roundabout 😢. He is the sweetest thing but not sure he’s too keen on his new weight management programme 🤣

Couple of new exercises in the jump field.

1. cavaletti bounce followed by left or right turn to skinny brush. To help improve accuracy changing direction.

2. Cavaletti bounce in - curving line to oxer - curving line to cavaletti bounce out. Ridden as a serpentine turning back to the cavalletti to start and turning away from the cavaletti to finish before repeating. To improve suppleness and accuracy ensuring rider is focussing on the next fence.

Nice dry weather so popped some exercises in the field :
* 3 x cavalletti with 15m between. Canter down with 3 or 4 strides between each. Develops rhythm, ride ability, accuracy and discipline
* 20m square great for training as above. Accuracy of 20m circles, suppleness thru body, correctly riding corners. A hard exercise for the horse
* small parallel with tramlines to develop straightness to a fence and useful as a marker for rebalancing after the fence@
