Abi Prints Hello I'm Abi (she/her), a printmaker currently based in Manchester.

I hand-make Screenprints and stock locally printed Risograph wall art and greetings cards, all designed by me.

Yesterday’s was Details/Variant, so I thought it would be fun to show how I’ve developed my Koi Pond over the years 🎏

The first version I printed myself at on their beginner risograph course. I chose to print in green and orange and it turned out so cool, but overall I worried I went a bit hard on the orange layer so lost some details on the fish 💚

Once they had sold out I created my second version which is in my shop at the moment, I updated the design adding more details and changing some things around but if you swipe you can see the same layout on both ❤️

This time I went for Fluro Red and Light Teal and this came out so pretty, if I sell out maybe I’ll deign a new version, in some new colours 🌈

Today’s prompt is Aim ✨

My aim for 2025 is to make more prints and cards, everything feels a bit slow for me at the moment as work is really busy, but I’m hoping with the longer daylight hours and with warmer weather on the way, I can start making some of the prints I have planned very soon 🩵

Excited to do some more screenprinting and experimenting and hopefully make some fun things to share with you all 🌈

Today is day 6, of and today’s prompt is Tools & Materials, as a screenprinter I have lots of go to tools! 🎨

🩵 My trustee wooden squeegee, I have a few different sizes and my faves are from

🩵 A craft knife for making paper stencils, I actually fine this one quite hard to hold, so would love some recommendations if you have a good one

🩵 Paintbrushes which I use for my painterly screenprints, also helpful for small patch up jobs on a print

🩵 Paint, (usually neon) I have tried lots of different paints over the years, here’s a few of my faves

🩵 Silkscreen, in screenprinting you can get screens in aluminium or wood, I prefer the aluminium as I find them more sturdy, also from or

🩵 Then the most important screenprinting tool, TAPE! You can’t get anywhere without a good roll of low tack Parcel tape, to tape off areas of your screen you don’t want to print and a roll of masking tape, to tape down your acetate and print markers for registration

prompt two is Style, I always find this question hard to answer 😅

My style is all about shapes, building them up to reveal animals, plants or structures ranging in abstractness 💙

My work ranges from the graphic vectors of my Risograph Prints to the painterly feel of my Screenprints 🌞

I am a printmaker and I love the messiness, creativity and challenges this can bring. Also nothing beats the bright neon inks, you can get using these techniques 😍

This year I’m taking part in March Meet the Maker, prompt one is Brand Reintroduction ✨

I started Abi Prints back in 2020 after learning how to screenprint at Hot Bed Press in 2019 💙

I create work from my home studio (aka half of my bedroom) in Prestwich, Manchester 🥲

Abi Prints is my creative outlet which came from a need to create physical work after spending so much time at the computer for my day job in the Animation Industry 🌞

I always try to experiment and push my style as well as my technical abilities, to create fun and unique designs based on what is inspiring me in the moment ✨

I love colour, especially neon, I find it so hard when picking final colours to choose just one, so I usually end up with two or three variations of my designs 🌈

Lovely to see so many markers posts already, I can’t wait to get to know you all better 💖

I love experimenting with colour and as all my prints are limited edition there will never be two runs which are exactly the same 🌞

January has been a slow start for me but I got my tax returns sorted and other admins bits, so now I can get onto some new prints and a shop update✨

I got some stock back from my Christmas pop-ups too, so some things are back in stock, including some heart cards, perfect for Valentine’s Day or sending to anyone you love 💖

I just got a delivery of Risographs prints, ready to take to and before they close on the 24th 🤩

My new Christmas cards are now live on my website, I’m so happy with how they came out 🎄

Each of these cards is screenprinted with three layers of metallic ink making them extra shiny and can be transformed into a little Christmas tree decoration, in a few simple steps.

The tree at my parents house always makes me feel the most Christmassy, filled with warm white fairy lights and an amazing mix of decorations. I wanted to capture the magic in this card design and have even sprinkled in a few Abi Prints designs as baubles, see if you can spot them!

First look at my Christmas card for this year 🎄

I have created some three colour screenprinted Christmas trees, these cards are double sided and come with instructions for how to turn your card into a little Christmas tree model ✨

So feels like forever ago now but I’ve been on holiday and wanted to share all the amazing things I got ✨

I love my new leather bag so much it came to Crete with me, it’s my everyday bag already 💚
I had my eye on this from the last super seconds so I knew I needed to get, I can’t wait to get it framed and put it up 🩵
I love having lots of pretty and unique greetings cards in stock, so I knew I wanted to get my hands on these for my upcoming Birthdays 🤩
this necklace is so cute, I chose this strawberry necklace from all the designs and I love it so much 🍓
not technically a second but the bunny was the last one I needed so now I have the full collection, got to get them framed and put them all up and the sweetest little troll print too🌈
the cutest crochet cat, growing up I always had black cats and wanted this little loaf to remind me of all my favourite pets 😻
I grabbed one of these moon planters, straight away and love how it looks in my plant pot, such beautiful glasswork 🌙
one of my fellow champions, we all swapped items as a nice little keepsake from the event and these prints and cards I got are so gorgeous 😍

Now to get printing so I can have more seconds for the next event, also can’t wait to show you my new Christmas card design, November feels like the right time to share this right? 🎄

Whale Whirlpool

Throwback to the first ever screenprint I made for Abi Prints, before I came up with the name for my business 🐳 To create this print, I mixed different shades of blue and green, painting them straight onto the screen each time, I then pulled the ink through to create this one layer screenprint 💙 I photographed each one, so you can see how each print is different from the last, I have sold a lot of these now, so some will be up in people’s homes now, which is so lovely ✨

Super Seconds Packing Orders

What a lovely Super Seconds Festival, I’m so grateful to have been part of this event ✨ I started packing up orders yesterday, hoping to sort all the postage out today and get them posted tomorrow 🤩 Thanks so much if you bought something from my shop, entered my giveaway, shared, liked or commented on any of my posts, all your support means so much 💙 I will also gather up all the giveaway entries and draw name at random, winter will be announced on Wednesday 🌞
