Wellingborough Dog Welfare, or Wellidog as we are more fondly known is a local charity in Grendon, Northamptonshire, and we are dedicated to making life easier for strays and unwanted dogs locally from surrounding areas. Founded in 1993 we have been rescuing stray dogs for over 22 years and are still as committed today as we always have been. With so many abandoned and unwanted dogs entering kenne

ls every day we are committed to finding loving homes for all of our dogs. We are a no-kill shelter who believe that second hand dogs make first class friends, and we work around the clock to raise funds to care for the dogs in our care while we search for their perfect forever home. All of the money we raise goes directly to our charity, but we can only carry on the work we do with the help of people’s generosity. We do not claim expenses for our work, our payment is seeing the dogs in our care transferred to a forever home and becoming part of a family where they are loved.

Arya is a 4 month old husky in need of a committed home, ideally husky savvy. She hasn’t had the most settled start to life and needs time to adjust to home life. What she can offer in return is plenty of snuggles! She is typical of her breed; energetic, affectionate and vocal. She is a very clever girl who loves nothing more than to snuggle on the sofa in the evening. She loves to be outside so a home that loves the outdoors would be amazing for her where she can go on loads of adventures and explore! She will need a home that will not leave her for long periods as she has attachment issues at the moment which need working on but she is young and can learn. She is just very confused but is slowly learning the ropes

She loves to be with her person, she needs to feel safe and loved. Once she has come out of her shell you would see the cheeky side to her, she likes to carry your shoes around and loves to play with her toys. She could live with sensible children 6 and another dog (all must be neutered) but no cats

Arya needs a home which will allow her time to settle as she can get stressed to start but with each day there will be progress and there is an amazing dog right there 💕

Russell is looking for a very active home as he has tonnes of energy! He would be amazing at agility or fly ball etc he is so quick. He has so much energy he will keep going 😂 he is a very friendly boy and gets really excited which results in him jumping up, he has springs in his feet. He loves to play with a ball or a toy, he likes his nylabone the best. He is a great young fun dog that needs a lot of exercise and some training but will make an amazing dog 🐾

He would do well if somebody wanted a running partner 🏃🏃‍♂️

He is a typical crazy spaniel and a friendly boy, he is really good in the car. He is fine with other dogs so could easily live with one, he even tires eshe out which says something 😂 His whole body wiggles when he sees you and he loves his food which is great for training

Beanie is a very loving boy who loves nothing more than a snuggle on the sofa. He loves people and is starting to learn the basics. He is starting to learn what his toys are and enjoys flinging them around, he is full of character and will make you laugh daily. P.s. he snores 😂😴

He will need a committed home as he is a typical puppy, his house training is ongoing but he is stubborn with this. He loves his people so much that he can get a bit of separation anxiety so he will need a home where he won’t be left for long periods and willing to work on this.

He is a little baby who needs the right guidance in his life as he will make a wonderful dog. He will need to go to training. He enjoys going on his walks but is learning to walk on the lead.

He can be a little shy to start but away from the kennels he is different. He is a typical patterdale, active, but he also loves to sit and have a cuddle and his chest rubbed. He loves his food 🧀

He is fine with other dogs and could live with sensible, calm children over ten. He is a lovely boy looking for his forever home, he will make somebody a lovely companion 🩵

Please can anybody help us find Freddie his forever home! He needs one asap. He is a five year old jack Russell x beagle who is a very friendly boy. He loves people and cuddles but is also independent too. He is a typical beagle type and pulls but would be amazing using that nose of his. He loves his walks and could definitely live with another dog, may even be good for him! No young children or cats. Please can somebody offer this boy a chance 🙏🙏

He has had no enquiries to give him a home whatsoever and we don’t know why 😢

Ziggy is in need of the right home asap as she is going a bit mad in the kennel environment. She is a young girl who is full of potential but needs somebody to put the work in. She would do well with a job, flyball etc, she loves a ball! She is a young pup that has had no training. She can be very loving and friendly. She needs to be able to get her energy out as she can get frustrated. She travels really well in the car. She is very food motivated so this will help with training, she will be an amazing dog in the right home just she hasn’t had that up until now sadly 😢

She is a very clever girl and has a lot of potential and would do well in a working home. A very active home needed for this girl

Yogi is a beautiful 4 months old boy needing his forever home! He will need an active home that will also stimulate his brain! He is a collie at heart so please make sure you can offer him the home he needs before applying. He is going through the bitey puppy stage and will need house training, socialisation etc. in the right home with the right input this boy will be amazing, he has so much potential! He needs to be occupied. He loves to play with dogs and would love a friend but would also be ok on his own too with socialisation. Any dog he is to live with must be neutered!

He is really good in the car 🚘 and settles down well in his crate overnight. He welcomes everybody like he hasn’t seen them in 10 years! He loves all the attention and does also like a cuddle. He loves tennis balls and all other toys and will happily amuse himself. Tennis balls are probably his favourite but he will take any toy he can 😂🎾.

He is learning to walk on the lead and is really enjoying his walks, he can be a bit vocal. He would be good at obedience or anything like that

All in all a wonderful dog full of potential that needs an active home that will mentally stimulate him 🩵

Beautiful Lara the sweetest little staff x girl looking for her forever home 💕 she is two years old. She loves people and is such a cuddle monster. She will sit on your lap and enjoy cuddles for as long as she can. She loves to play with squeaky toys and will bring them back to you to throw again. She travels really well in the car and is ready for adventures and exploring. She would be best as an only dog and could live with children 10+. This girl deserves nothing but the best and will make a wonderful companion 💕

Eshe is a dog full of life and energy and is going to need an active home willing to put in a lot of training. She is extremely friendly but has had no input in her short life. She is full of beans and on the go, she would do super well at training though as she is so clever and very food motivated.

She loves other dogs and would love to live with one but the other dog would need to be tolerant and playful too 🐶

She loves walks and is very good in the car but also needs her mind stimulated too. She does like to chat to you, sometimes it’s like she is having a full on conversation 😂

A very outgoing dog her tail is always going but she does need to be kept busy, she is very friendly but would rather be doing something than sitting cuddling. A very very clever dog who would do well with obedience. she would probably do well at agility, flyball, running or something like that

This girl will make such a wonderful companion and she is just so happy all of the time. If you are looking for a dog who will love long walks and is willing to train she could be the one for you 😃

****URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP**** Good evening everybody We are again in urgent need of our wonderful supporters help. This is for a very special boy of ours whom a lot of you have followed his story. Beautiful enzo has been back at the vets again this week as he had gone backwards and had started to collapse again. Upon examination the vets thought it was his cruciate ligament in his left knee. Today x rays confirmed this and he needs urgent surgery to correct the knee. He is booked in for this next Friday the 5th March. This boy has been with us a year now and has had several trips to the vets to try to get to the bottom of his medica problems. He has several joint problems which are now having more pressure put on them by this damaged knee. We want the best for this young boy who is only a year and a half old 😢. We want to give him the best chance of a happy and as pain free life as we can. Enzo whole story of how he came to us is very sad. He was originally found tied to a lamppost by his owners, who obviously new there was something wrong. He came to us via the pound and once he is a wellidog we will do whatever we can for him. We need to give this smashing young lad a chance and to do that we really need all of your help. The cost of the operation is over £3000 and we really are urgently appealing to you our wonderful supporters to help us raise the funds for this. We have 8 thousand members in this group. If everybody gave 50 p we would be able to reach our target. If you are unable to donate we would really appreciate it if you could share this appeal. This will be a long recovery for this boy and we will do our absolute best for him and will update his supporters regularly. He has been having hydro and massages weekly to help and will continue this when recovered.
