Respect your Decoys & Helpers ‼️
As decoys/helpers we put our bodies on the line to improve your dogs performance. They may look all protected but the aches, pains and damage it causes the body really takes its toll.
Keeping your dog & trainer safe during your protection classes should always be priority so please be mindful whilst handling your dogs…
With each session your dogs get better and better but your decoy will take the damages however small forward with them, I’m 33 years old and some days I can’t walk after protection, some days I can’t cletch a fist, some days we even go home with deep bruises, nerve damage and open wounds in the unfortunate cases and we will take this with us and pay the price for it in our 60s 70s etc…
Am I complaining?? Hell no, none of us are but that’s why we charge what we charge and that’s why you should consider your decoys health and safety whilst training…
There’s some incredible decoys out there working hard every day and some them been doing it for years and years, far longer then myself…
Respect to all decoys & helpers 💙
