Try and keep your cats indoors if possible while it’s so cold outside . They can easily get hypothermia. If they do go out then provide a shelter outdoors that is waterproof and sturdy but make sure they have free access back indoors. Check your cat flap in snowy or icy weather that it hasn’t stuck or got blocked. Ensure your cat has plenty of fresh water indoors incase outside sources freeze. Always make sure your cat stays inside at night , locking the cat flap once they are inside. Provide them with warm, comfortable and safe places to sleep. Regularly check sheds and garages to ensure your cat isn’t locked inside. Make sure your cat is microchipped and the details are up to date .
When extreme weather is forecast keep them indoors . They aren’t used to freezing temperatures and can develop frostbite or hypothermia. Keep them entertained and exercised with enrichment toys and feeders. Keep your pet safe and happy
