Is your pup carrying a little extra “fluff” lately?
.
While those extra pounds might look cute, they can have serious downsides for our furry friends. From joint strain to decreased energy, an overweight dog often loses the drive to work and play – impacting their overall health and happiness. 🐕
.
💡 Regular exercise, portion control, and mental stimulation aren’t just about keeping dogs physically fit. They’re essential for maintaining a motivated, active companion who’s ready to take on any training session with enthusiasm!

✨Crate Training Games 101✨
.
1️⃣ Game 1: Toss the Treat + Release
Start by throwing a treat into the crate and let your dog go in to get it. Once they’ve finished, use a release word (like “free”) and toss a treat outside the crate so they know it’s time to come out. Repeat this to build confidence and make the crate a positive space! 🐾
.
2️⃣ Game 2: Door Control
With your dog in the crate, gently close the door. After a moment, open it—but don’t let them dash out! Practise keeping the door open while they wait inside until you give the release word. This helps teach patience and calm behaviour! 🚪👏

📣 PSA: we love every single gorgeous dog we see on walks!
You might see a 100lb floof on a walk, bouncing around with puppy energy, and think, “That dog’s too wild!” 😳
.
Big dogs are still just puppies at heart too! Just like the little ones, they’re learning the ropes and need time (and patience) to grow into their paws.
.
Every dog, big or small, has its own traits and tendencies, which their training approach needs to match. So let’s not jump to conclusions, each dog is just trying their best to be a good boy or girl! 🐶 #dogoftheday #dogtraining #dogwalker #dogwalks #skit #funny #jokes #belgianmalinois #germanshepherd #workingdog #dogs
🐾 Why Choose a Y-Shaped Harness? 🐾
.
The Y-shaped harness is an excellent choice for your dog and here’s why:
.
✅ Even Pressure Distribution: Unlike collars, which put pressure on the neck, the Y-shaped design spreads the weight evenly across your dog’s chest and shoulders, making walks much more comfortable
.
✅ Full Range of Movement: No restricted movement here! Your dog can walk, run, and explore without any limits on their shoulders or legs
.
✅ Front Clip for Better Control: With a front clip, it’s easier to redirect your dog when they start pulling, helping you train better lead manners without encouraging pulling.
.
Upgrade your dog’s walk and give them the freedom to move while keeping them safe. 🐕💪

Ever wonder why your dog gets so hyped over certain things, like chasing a squirrel or hearing their leash jingle?
.
It’s all about dopamine! In this video, I’ll explain how your dog’s brain craves that feel-good chemical—and how you can use it to guide their behavior.
.
By controlling when and how they get that dopamine hit through structured play and consistent training, you can help them stay calm and focused. Ready to level up your dog’s training?

I used this method to teach my Belgian Malinois complex commands in record time - and you can too!
.
Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Grab a treat and hold it in front of your dog’s nose
.
2️⃣ Slowly guide the treat in the direction you want your dog to follow
.
3️⃣ Remember, dogs receive information with their nose first, then eyes, and finally ears
.
4️⃣ Keep the treat close enough to keep their focus, but far enough that they have to move towards it. Before you know it, your dog will be mastering new commands with ease!

Teaching your dog to loose lead walk can be a game-changer! 🐾
.
Here’s the first steps on how to master and understand the opposition reflex and make walks a breeze using a fixed-length lead.

Treat time is more than just a reward, it’s a key part of training your pup!
🐕
When working on luring techniques, getting the size and timing of the treat just right is crucial. Too big, and your dog might lose focus. Too small, and they might not be motivated.
🎯
Use treats about the size as shown, and hold them with your fingers positioned just right to guide your dog’s nose. This way, they’ll follow your lead with precision, making training sessions smooth and effective. #DogTrainingTips #PositiveReinforcement #PuppyTraining #DogLovers
