Thank you to all our clients that leave us such wonderful reviews

“Sadly, our gorgeous 17 year old cat, Munchkin, had to be sent to cat heaven today as she was extremely poorly due to a mass found in her bladder, which was diagnosed by David at The Guildford Vet when we sought a second opinion from him after we weren’t confident about former vet’s diagnosis (which it turns out we were right to question).

I cannot express in words how professional, caring, understanding and empathetic everyone is at The Guildford Vet! From the moment I called to ask if we could seek a second opinion from them Kim on reception was amazingly kind and ensured we got registered with them straight away and got an immediate appointment for us with David.

At such an emotional and sad time David, Kim and all the team at The Guildford Vet were so very kind and understanding and treated our Munchkin so tenderly - as heartbreaking as it is, we are so grateful her last moments were in their hands.

Thank you to David, Kim and all the team for being the lovely people you are who, without a shadow of a doubt, genuinely care for the cherished family pets of your clients.”

We got to take some photos of lovely Millie before she was admitted for her spay procedure.

Thinking about getting your cat spayed? Here’s why it’s the best decision for your feline friend! 🐱✨

✅ Prevents unwanted litters
✅ Reduces health risks (No pyometra or mammary cancer!)
✅ Stops heat cycle behaviors (No more loud yowling or restlessness!)
✅ Keeps your cat safer (Less roaming & fewer fights)

📅 Best time? Around 4-6 months old, but adult cats can be spayed too!

⏳ Recovery time? 7-10 days with some extra love & care! 💕

A human and puppy bond is one that we can’t compare, but it’s one that we are thankful we get to share.

Pepper waiting so patiently for her turn to see the vet.

We have started taking Polaroids of your pets when the reception team have some free time. They are hanging on the wall in reception - take a look at some of our cute customers next time you are visiting.

This gorgeous girl is Marlene. She came in to the practise back in February after her owners believed she had ingested part of a lily plant 🙀

Lillies are highly poisonous to cats, lily toxicity can cause fatal kidney failure just from biting into a lily leaf or petal, licking lily pollen from their paws or drinking water from a vase containing cut lilies.

Marlene’s owner noticed that she started vomiting and had pollen on her coat so brought her in to see us, we tested Marlene’s bloods and sadly she was already showing signs of accrue kidney injury, We were able to give her immediate treatment to flush the kidneys to help process the toxins better.

We are really happy to say that Marlene is now recovering well and she was able to go back home to her family after 3 days of intensive care hospitalisation.

This time last year you may remember Freddy and Mercury were bought in to the practice and they were only hours old.
Everyone coming into the practice would have seen them being cuddled by the reception team as they worked.
Sheryl our head nurse took them home that first day and look at them now, they are loving, cheeky beautiful fully grown cats.

Happy 1st Birthday Freddy and Mercury

Thank you to everyone who leaves such lovely reviews for us.

🐈‍⬛ Swipe to see Scamp nice and settled back at home 🐈‍⬛

“I wanted to leave a review to say how wonderful this practice is. My cat Scamp needed emergency treatment for a suspected blocked urinary tract, Trystan answered the call and was brilliant, immediately made me feel like my cat was more important than payment (unlike others). When we arrived he explained all the process for checking Scamp over and next steps should it be what we suspected. Unfortunately it was and we left him there overnight, thankfully we caught it in time. Trystan called 1st thing in the morning to update us on the plan for the day ahead and we arranged to collect him that evening. The practice was open now so we met the staff/nurses at reception who were so lovely. Trystan then took the time (there were super busy) to explain everything they had done for Scamp that day and what to do next with my vet. They sent notes over to my vets for the next day too, superb service. If you live nearer Worplesdon than I do (Camberley) then I highly recommend this practice, friendly and great communication the entire 24hrs. I am so relieved to have taken my boy there and to have him home.”

‼️PLEASE READ‼️

Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a disease that until recently carried a devastatingly poor prognosis. It is caused by feline coronavirus, a common virus in cats which belongs to the same family as COVID-19 (but bears no risk to human health as feline coronaviruses only infect cats).

Many cats will be exposed to feline coronavirus without developing any clinical signs. However, in a small minority of cats the virus mutates and causes their immune system to respond in a certain way, leading to the development of the disease known as FIP.

There are many different forms of FIP, and it is notoriously difficult to diagnose because it causes a wide range of symptoms, all of which can be caused by other illnesses.

In the last 3 years, new antiviral drugs developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic have also become available for veterinary use. As a result, huge advances have been made in the treatment of FIP, and there are now options available for effective treatment of this once-fatal disease.

🐾 One of our patients, Oscar, owes his life to these new treatments – despite being extremely unwell when he was diagnosed with FIP in October last year, we are delighted to report that he has responded brilliantly to treatment with anti-viral medication and is enjoying life at home with his lovely owners. 🐾

Regular vet check-ups are essential for guinea pigs!

These little guys can hide illness well, so routine exams help catch issues early. Signs to watch for include weight loss, changes in appetite, or unusual behavior.

Always make sure your piggy gets the care they deserve!
