Meet Chewie !

This was Chewie’s 3rd groom with me today, What a different dog he was! . He was so excited to come see me . Offering me kisses and cuddles . From his first groom with me he’s come such a long way in a really short time.

When Chewie’s owners contacted me they explained he finds grooming extreamly stressful and absolutely hates it. I then said to them “let me see how he goes for this first groom and il find out what areas of grooming he hates and we can work on it”.

When Chewie arrived he new immediately what he was their for & he was gutted to say the least.😂🫣
I always bath & dry the dogs first that way they have a clean coat to clip on. This also leaves a nicer finish. Chewie did not like this at all though he was super stressed out and upset. I thought oh no he’s going to hate the clipping stage. But to my suprise he was not phased at all by the rest of the grooming experience.

I spoke to his owner about them bathing him and having him dry at home the night before the groom and see if this improves his experience. This was the best decision we could have done for Chewie. He now gets washed at home & towel dried ready for his appointment the next day. From how he arrived today & carried on through his groom . He was a completely different dog !

It really does prove the happiness of the dog is the main thing . The groom doesn’t have to be perfect as long as the dog has a great experience & doesn’t dread being at the groomers. This forms a positive and loving relationship with the groomer and dog.

Everyone is left happy & looked after ❤️

Otto is without a doubt the cheekiest most mischievous boy I have on my books. He came today with a lot of matting so we decided to strip it back and start again.

Meet Hamish !

This was Hamish’s first groom with me & what a cutie he is . For an older man he certainly doesn’t act like it ! This shows with the jaw lock on the toy in the bath 😂 he wasn’t prepared to give that up.

His dad wasn’t 100% sure on what he wanted for Hamishs haircut . So we decided to do a light tidy up so it’s easy to manage with all the woodland walks he does.

Can’t wait to see you again Hamish ❤️

Meet Tilly , When Tilly first came to me she was petrified of grooming . She was always muzzled and extreamly nervous. After some time & patience she’s learnt she can trust me. We traded the muzzles for cuddles. I love that she’s realised grooming isn’t that bad . ❤️
