⭐⭐⭐Equine Touch celebrates 25 Years⭐⭐⭐

Equine Touch is an international bodywork modality originally established by Jock and Ivana Ruddock. 2022 marks 25 years since it first started and during that time it has become an internationally recognised modality with practitioners across the world. In the UK and Ireland, there are 64 practitioners currently registered. Courses are regularly run both to enable students to learn to help their own horses and also to complete the practitioner route. Over 1613 horse lovers have attended these courses to date with around 50 of these currently registered on the certificate training leading to practitioner.

Equine Touch is a type of gentle bodywork which addresses the fascia (connective tissue) in the body, allowing it to become supple and the body to be balanced and back in harmony. Horses absolutely love it!

To mark the 25 years, the Equine Touch practitioners and Area Co-ordinators are holding 25 celebratory events across the country to enable more people learn about Equine Touch. The International Equine Touch Association – UK & Ireland is also offering horse lovers the chance to win one of three fantastic prizes:

👉A series of three Equine Touch sessions for their horses (worth at least £120)

👉A place to attend a two day ‘Foundation Part 1’ course to learn the basics of how to do Equine Touch on your own horse, and this is also the first step on the journey to qualify as a practitioner (worth £200)

👉A place to attend the human version – known as VHT – (worth £275)

To enter go to: https://www.equinetouchuk.com/25th-anniversary-form

Entries close 31 December 2022 and you have to be aged over 18 and a resident of the UK and Ireland to enter. Other local events and activities are planned to include get togethers, demos and the like – keep an eye open in your area.

The Equine Touch is a non-diagnostic, non-invasive Equine Bodywork system which is an holistic soft tissue address, effecting mostly connective tissue – muscles and tendons, joint capsules and ligaments using a very specific move. I first learnt Equine Touch in 2005, becoming a Practitioner in 2011. If you would like to learn more and perhaps book your horse in for a session please PM me or email me at [email protected]

Having owned a horse with sleep deprivation due to arthritis, it's a very serious condition and very difficult to manage. I've also had horses go into very deep states of processing when carrying out Equine Touch/Red Light/Acupressure Massage sessions. They have then fallen asleep and almost collapsed... This is sleep deprivation and in even case I've requested that the owner contact their vet to investigate. It's also quite dangerous to work in these horses as I've narrowly missed being fallen on!!

Sleep deprivation in horses can be complex, so a methodical collaborative approach can be the most beneficial way to provide a solution
