📢FREE CAT MICROCHIPPING📢

We're holding our next free cat microchipping event on Tuesday 26th March at our hub, 21 Stonecot Hill, SM3 9HB. 11am to 2pm.

If you have a cat who's not chipped, you will legally need to get them chipped & registered on the database by 10th June this year. Read more on the government website; https://bit.ly/3wvrvKS

We're offering free cat chipping to help local cat owners comply with the law & keep their pets safer. There is no reason for an owned cat not to be microchipped as it will help them, us and you, should they ever go missing.

We will also be joined by our local Cats Protection, Sutton, Kingston & district branch who will be offering neutering advice and vouchers

No appointment needed and this is not means tested.

We have had a possible stray cat brought in into us. Images of the cat are alongside this post. The Cat was not microchipped. The cat has been routinely hanging around close to the Burpham parade of shops.

If you recognise this cat, please contact the clinic on 01483 538990.

Unfortunately we have had a cat brought in to us that had passed away as a result of a road traffic accident. The cat was a grey tabby with white front paws and a white chest/under belly. Sadly the cat was not microchipped. The cat was found on 'The Street' in Clandon.

If you think this may be your cat/know somebody who has lost a cat of this description, please contact the clinic on 01483 538990.

⭐Pet of the Month- December 2023⭐

The lovely Clarence has been selected for Pet of the Month award for December!💗

Clarence presented to vet, Josie, after being unwell at home. He was very brave and had bloods run during his appointment to look for any explanation for his sudden illness.💉

The following day, it was decided further investigations in the form of x-rays were needed to rule out possible explanations for Clarence being so unwell. These revealed he had ingested a foreign body.🩻

Clarence underwent abdominal surgery to retrieve the foreign body and it was revealed he had swallowed a ball! 🥎

Clarence was extremely brave throughout all investigations and treatments he received, and after a few days was back to his normal self.🐾

For being such a star during very scary times, Clarence has been awarded with our December Pet of the Month award.🏆

⭐️Pet of the Month- November 2023⭐️

Lovely Leia has been selected as Pet of the Month for November!❤️

Leia came into the clinic to see vet Douglas in October after having blood in her urine and episodes of bleeding gums.🩸
She was admitted to the clinic where she underwent lots of tests including bloodwork, x-rays and ultrasound as well as feacal analysis to look for any explanation for her bleeding.🩺🩻🔬 Leia was a star throughout all of this, letting the team undertake all they needed to in order to come to a diagnosis.⭐️

Investigations revealed that Leia had suspected immune mediated thrombocytopenia, a condition where the body’s immune system destroys and damages its own platelets which can be fatal.

Due to Leia’s condition deteriorating significantly, she was referred for further treatment, support and investigations.

After hospitalisation and supportive drug treatment at the referral practice, Leia was discharged home to her family.💗

Leia continues to recover at home with her lovely owners and is doing much better. For all her bravery throughout the past month, Leia is Novembers Pet of the Month!🐾

⭐️Pet of the Month- August 2023⭐️

The gorgeous Merlin has been selected as our Pet of the Month for August!💗

Merlin presented to the clinic after developing a swelling on his foot. His owners noticed he had also been licking the paw a lot. Due to his symptoms, Merlin was admitted to the clinic for further investigations of his paw under anaesthesia.🩺

When the swelling on Merlin’s paw was examined, a grass seed was found to be the cause of the swelling.🌾

Grass seeds are extremely prevalent at this time of year and we see a high number of patients present to us with injuries caused by them. Grass seeds can track and get stuck in dogs who have been running in areas with long grass. They may look small and inoffensive but can cause pain and irritation. The most common areas for grass seeds to get stuck and cause issues include: eyes, ears, noses and paws.👂👀👃🐾

Signs of grass seeds include head shaking and ear irritation (if stuck in the ear) or limping and chewing at paws (if stuck in the paw).👅

Merlin was extremely brave during his stay at the clinic and loved to give everyone lots of kisses!😘

We are pleased to report Merlin is back to his usual self after his procedure and is back enjoying walks with his lovely owners!🐶💜
