Bosorne Leatherwork Handmade English Leatherwork traditionally hand stitched in my workshop above the Tamar Valley. Commissions taken. Repair service on saddlery and leathergoods.

Bespoke leather goods, handmade using traditional skills and methods used in the saddlery trade for many years,
Each item is individually cut from the hide, hand stitched and hand finished to a high standard. Belts, dog collars and leads, bridles and head collars made to measure. J & E Sedgewicks full grained vegetable tanned leather, quality brass or stainless steel fittings used on my all work.

Hopefully things are starting to return to normal again, I'm not a very good patient as Mr B will tell you! 🤣

'Why has my expensive 'designer' leather belt peeled?'
A question I'm often asked followed by can I repair it? 🤔

The belt bought with a designer label, might say it is genuine leather......yes it is, BUT quite possibly the lowest quality of leather.

Some belts are made from Bonded leather.
This is basically scraps of any leather put in a machine, mulched, then glued together with polyurethane.
This is then extruded onto a paper or cloth surface and given a leather look.

This is why the belts in the photos have peeled and split after a short time.

Belts made by myself, yes not a designer label, but are handmade from Sedgwick Leather which is a full grained vegetable tanned leather, from the best quality British cow hide.
Leather all the way through and will not peel.
My very first belts I made over 24 years ago are still being worn today.

Mr B joins Eddie and I at the weekends on our walks, sometimes under duress! 🐕🐾🥰
But during the week is busy with his business,
Ball and ball farm services ltd.

Alongside Sam and Robin they specialise in air conditioning in tractors and heavy plant machinery.
Supply and fit air brakes to farm implements, supply hitches, slurry tanker hire, muck spreader hire and much more. 🚜

My biggest supporter behind the scenes.
Often helps with repairs that need metalwork doing.
A fab unpacker and packer at markets, and always picks me up when things have not gone to plan.
Most importantly Mr B always makes me laugh! 😘

Eddie is home and enjoying cuddles ìn our sunny

Thank you for all the private messages and comments, she is a very special little dog who has a big fan
club! ❤️

Xrays show she has arthritis in her jaw, that explains her change in how she eats and can't pick up a ball. Her toys are no problem to pick up! 🥰

We will keep adapting her diet and give her anti inflammatory medication and see how she gets on. 🤞

My workshop buddy will be back in her chair watching me tomorrow stitching at the workbench. 💞

A much loved handbag needed a new magnetic fastening fitting. 👜

Those that follow my posts know I usually stitch with two straight needles (one on each end of the thread) .....this job needed one curved needle. 🪡

The fitting and material lining were originally stitched into place before the bag was put together. So I used a curved needle and did a back stitch to maintain the look of the bag. 👍
