What a week! 😴😴

My darling Mabel decided to give me yet another colic scare on Wednesday night (like I’m not over her surgery) which ended up with a callout from .the.vet followed by a trip and a two night stay at

She’s home and well; just having to find inventive ways to get her to drink! Both colics caused by dehydration!

Massive thankyou to my sister getting up in the middle of the night to take Mabel to NEH, lorry shopping next! 🚛

After an influx of messages asking for services, I shall add my remaining availability up until the end of the year… there isn’t much left so get in quick!

⭐️ November 23rd - jump clinic at mine (limited spaces left)

⭐️ 1st December, all day availability

⭐️ 7th December - jump clinic at mine (a few slots available)

⭐️ 14th December - PM only, freelance or at mine

⭐️ 21st/22nd December - PM only, either freelance or at mine

This is it for the end of the year!

What a week!

For months I’ve been debating keeping Mabel instead of selling her which was always the plan,
She finally arrived at mine on Friday last week! 🥳
Feeling ready to crack on and plan some outings, our celebrations were short lived and interrupted on Sunday evening with a phone call to .the.vet as Mabel wasn’t quite right…
Meds administered and herself relaxing, I took a breath, only to call him half hour later as she’d declined again. ☹️
With a referral to I wasn’t feeling very positive, but with 4 people there to meet me when I arrived, I knew she was in good hands.
Then the dreaded words of “colic surgery” were spoken of, I was shattered.

A phone call to Mabel’s owner to relay where we were, a few tears shed and we gave Matt and his team the go ahead to save our beautiful girl.

4 hours later I got the phone call to say she was out the other end and I’ve never felt so relieved.
A quick 4am visit to see her before heading home to do the yard and trying to get some sleep!

A phone call at 9.30am to let me know she’s done some poos and was looking good. Now a waiting game.

The whole week has been critical, but I’m so pleased to say she came home last night and is bright and her usual self 🥰

I cannot thank Ben at , Matt at and Zanna for being alongside me in this traumatic week.

Feeling very lucky and very grateful. 🫶🏻

Now the rehab begins 🫶🏻

My remaining slots for the year (yes I’ve planned that far ahead!) are as follows:

⭐️ Saturday 28th September (only two slots remaining)
⭐️ Saturday 19th October
⭐️ Saturday 23rd November
⭐️ Saturday 7th December

Whilst these are my set dates, I do have other weekend availability before the end of the year, so get in touch if you’d like anything booked in!

🍁🍂 with the change of weather brings a change in your horses coats, which in turns brings along the clipping season!

I have started to take bookings for clips already and currently am booking all the way upto the end of the year!

‼️September diary update ‼️

To all my lovely clients,

My diary has gotten crazy full which I am incredibly grateful for, however that does mean if you aren’t currently booked in for the coming month, I may not have much/any availability for you! 😬

I am already fully booked on all weekend dates,
Although do have a few slots left on both pole clinics at my base on 14th and 28th September.

Otherwise I am currently booking into October and shall be releasing jump clinic dates for then!

Little did I know when I took this photo this morning, it would be the start of a day from hell…

After bringing him in from the field, it became obvious quite quickly my boy wasn’t okay, flat down in his stable, not lifting his head for breakfast, that dreaded C word. Colic 😩

A quick phone call to and some meds in him, alongside a hand walk and a lunge, we had three poos done.
In his stable he was worse, I couldn’t keep him stood up ☹️. So back out for a walk and a phone call to who were with me in just 10 minutes! (Thank you Ben!)

More meds, and a re**al examination showed that Alfie had a twisted large intestine, Ben cleared out what was this side of the twist and a “time will tell” approach was all I had.
With Ben mentioning surgery if it didn’t right itself, which wasn’t an option for me as I have always promised myself I wouldn’t put him through that, certainly not at the age of 22, I definitely feared the worst.

So between myself and Chloe, we’ve walked him around the yard the entire day.
And finally at half 6 this evening we managed a poo! 💩

We’re not out of the woods yet but things are looking much brighter than they were this morning.
Keeping everything crossed for my golden oldie 🤞🏻🤞🏻
